Buf they will have it this week. Also check out Wine and Spirits Shoppe. They should have it this week as well. She does stock Ames Lager and a few other of our beers regularly.
Thanks. HyVee did have Ames Lager

As always guys, if you don't see it ask for it! I can only get to so many places in a week and you guys are always a big help. Thank you!

I asked at Grimes Hy-Vee on Saturday, lady looked at me like I was crazy (obvs not the right wine & spirits employee for the question..) - they set to get any anytime soon? I'll check at Urbandale later, would think those 2 hy-vees would have a huge contingent of Cyclone shoppers.

They should see it this week. Tuesday is the earliest anyone who didn't order last week would get it.

I'll have to check there tonight, I live just minutes from that store. I stopped by the West Lakes Hy-Vee in WDM this morning and they didn't have it but I see Backpocket has The Legend out again with a new can design. They must have taken over that beer with Peace Tree closing. I need to stock up on some ISU beers before Halloween as I think I am going to have some on hand for adult trick or treating. My oldest daughter no longer wants to trick or treat so she wants to hand out candy which we usually don't do. I have this idea that maybe we setup a small tailgate theme in the driveway and I'll just wear all black with a headset and playbook hanging off my side and be Coach Campbell. Would be funny if I could get a Hawk fan to take and Ames Lager or other ISU branded beer.

The Grimes Hy-Vee selection disappoints me, the Urbandale and West Des Moines stores has a lot more selection on craft beers. Especially the Confluence beers, they maybe have half the ones that the other Hy-Vee's in the area do.

Oh I disagree on the beer selection, I've found a lot more that I'm after in Grimes lately compared to Urbandale (not the case in the past before the Urbandale manager left). Urbandale might still have more confluence, but I've found more ISU beers and an overall great selection at the Grimes Hy-Vee.

Plus I think Grimes has slightly better terms on their craft beer punch card. Can't remember exactly what's different, but there's no limit to the number of punches you can get in a single trip, and they include 4 packs as well.

Maybe we aren't looking for the same kind of stuff I guess. I tend to find more selection at Urbandale and West Lakes Hy-Vee than Grimes when it comes to craft beers and certain other items as well. Grimes seems to be late in getting the new releases too. Took them forever to finally get Juicy Wiggle in stock and comparing to what I saw at West Lakes this morning compared to Grimes this past weekend the West Lakes store has way more selection of certain breweries lines than Grimes does.

The Grimes store in general while I like that it is practically a stone's throw from my house lacks some of the selection of other products that the Urbandale and the WDM stores have. I think they missed the mark a bit on how they designed that store and how the space is used as it took a year or less for them to get rid of the nail salon and the massive waste of space the DSW and exercise equipment areas took while the pharmacy is still terribly undersized for as much business as they do. Not going to list all the things I'm talking about but I will make stops at Urbandale or the West Lakes or Mills Civic Hy-Vees when I am in the area for things I can't get at the Grimes Hy-Vee.

Grimes Hy-Vee should have some. If they sold out of seven cases in a day that would be very impressive.

Winning.

Super smooth and clean. Would be great on a patio in the summer heat. An easy drinking beer that could easily be my go-to house beer between Memorial Day and Labor Day.

That said, I’ll happily buy and drink Blood Round year-round as a change of pace beverage.

Kudos to West O!
