The right statement to put out into public. Don't show all your cards while everything is in flux. What those cards are is a guess to anyone not in the circle

Reminder here that Pollard is the only Big 12 AD who's been through this **** before. Everyone else is a noob.

Yeah OK well, not to comforting, but they had to say something soon. This was it. What else can they say at this point? Adhere to the letter of the GOR law for another 4 years. Most think or know that won't happen.
So one of Jamie's comments was that Tx and OU said in their statement today that they plan on adhering to the GOR. Could someone provide a link to that (their statement) today? I haven't been able to find it as yet.

It didn’t make me feel better, but when you compare this to the statements by the others today the contrast is pretty notable.

Jamie is like a duck. Calm on the surface and paddling like hell underneath. No way he doesn't go down swinging.
He doesn't have four years to convince CMC that he's got things under control. He's got about four months before the vultures swoop in again.
If he really believes this, I think we might be screwed
If Pollard went off like he did on the Big 12 refs or the U of Iowa band deal, I would have been worried. He would have choice words for Texas and OU publicly if he thought we were in a bad spot. He clearly doesn't think that.
That calmness speaks volumes, IMO. They feel like they will be well positioned to wait out OU and UT for the buyout.
