anyone listening to Dan Patrick?? An emailer from Des Moines said something regarding comments on what happens when Vick gets out or prison.

Emailer said the Falcons or his next team should keep Vick on a "short" leash!! :biglaugh:

So in other words, he should be ready to go for the Miami Dolphins just in time for the 2010 season... What a rushing tandem that will be between Ricky Williams and Vick if Williams can just leave his dreads on his head instead of breaking them off and smoking them, and Vick can just stay away from man's best friend...

I'm always amazed how "apologetic" most criminals get after being caught!

He knew he was going to get "the hammer" from this judge relative to his sentencing because his cohorts did...that is why he actually reported to prison to start "serving his time" sometime back in November.

He'll probably come back in better shape than he has been in...it seems like most prisons have turned into "glorified workout facilities". Since he won't be able to partake of his favorite entertainment (dog fighting)...he will likely spend that time in the gym.

He deserves 23 years.

and meanwhile o.j. walks the streets. look, i love dogs, and think it's a terrible thing what he did to them. but come on. o.j. murdered 2 people and is out holding people at gunpoint for his sports memorabilia, and we are treating vick like the second coming of pontius pilate. again-i think vick should be punished and punished sternly, but if o.j. simpson got a second chance, then i think he deserves one as well. i seriously don't remember people being upset when o.j. was ruled innocent-weren't there riots because people were so happy he was found innocent? correct me if i am wrong.

O.J. didn't get a second chance because we all felt sorry for him, he had a good lawyer and the prosecution was ********. Michael Vick will get his second chance, it'll just come in 23 months.

my point wasn't about the no jail time for simpson, though i can see how it was interpreted that way. my point was more on the lines that nobody cares that the juice offed 2 people and everyone is screaming RABBLE because mike vick killed some dogs. again-i love dogs and think it is terrible what he did but what is wrong with this picture that there is much more of an outcry against a man that killed dogs then a man who killed people?

I read somewhere that the most that the sentence can be reduced is 3 months. So the minimum would end up being 20 months.

On a side note, I made a bet with my buddy for flying burrito on whether his sentence would be over/under 1 year. I took the over

I don't think this is the case at all. In fact, I would submit that OJ is a total pariah in our society. He gets kicked out of restaurants for no other reason than he is OJ. Hell, he can't even get a room at a casino in Vegas anymore.

I think nearly everyone cares that he "offed 2 people" and they blame our warped judicial system for setting him free.

However, you need to remember that this happened a long time ago and the Vick thing is brand new...I can assure you that if these two events happened on the same day...the OJ situation would be a bigger deal than the Vick situation.
