Headed out with a small group of guys for my cousins bachelor party the second weekend of December. Looking for some ideas on where to stay and things to do other than gamble. He's a military guy so I was thinking some paintball or atv off roading but I know you guys will have better ideas than me so lets hear them. From my past experiences in Vegas I've always had more fun on Fremont Street because its cheaper but it's been quite some time since I have been out there.

Thanks for any help you guys can throw my way-

I was just about to say stay at Fremont Street but you hit it right at the end. All of the casinos are closer, if you do gamble the house edges are lower, cheaper rooms, cheaper food.

There is a show right outside of Caesars palace called Absinthe, I would definitely recommend going, its got a mix of a little bit of everything, I was just in vegas with my buddies a couple months ago and we were all glad we went to it!

Funny you say this because I mentioned this on another forum I use and the very first response I got was from a guy suggesting the same thing. Must be well worth it, thanks for the advice!

If you are wanting to site see I would recommend the Mob Museum which is just right off of Fremont St. It is defiantly within walking distance and is really cool to see.

Caesar's is great for a bachelor party. Love their blackjack pools.

I would go to a shooting range and F stuff up. I would also go to the Bellagio for the buffet.

First mistake - should have borrowed your future Father in Law's classic car for the road trip instead of flying.
He'd have to drive it home backwards to take the miles off.

Meh, I didn't think it was THAT great, especially for the money you have to throw down on it. Next time I go to Vegas I think I'm steering clear of most buffets. If you do go to Samba Brazilian Steakhouse at the Mirage, you can find coupons for 2 for 1 meals with free drinks everywhere.

I have stayed on the strip (Bally's, Excalibur, Harrah's, Circus Circus), off strip (Station in Henderson), and on Fremont (4 Queens), in the past 7-8 years. I really preferred being either on the main strip (say Ballys) or south strip (Excalibur) to the other places. Fremont can be fun, but the last couple visits there, its extremely dirty, and some rough characters there all the time (bums, panhandlers, etc).

For activities, we went skydiving (pretty inexpensive in a group, will take a good part of a day), you can race/track exotic cars, and such. I was the old guy in the groups I have went with, so I spent a lot of time just watching people and going with the flow. You can get a limo to strip joints anytime you want, and the main strip gets a bit seedy after about 1 am (hookers and drug dealers everywhere)....lol.

I am simple so I enjoyed the simple stuff....Bellagio fountains....New York New York roller coaster....****'s Last Resort in Excalibur, the exhibits at the Hard Rock Casino....walking the strip after dark, etc....

Have fun and be safe in LV....

I think The Strip > Fremont Street. As far as quality of establishments and restaurants. So I'd stay on strip, and go to Fremont Street one evening.
