Agreed. His is losing a lot of creditability on this one. I think this could in a roundabout way hurt his (WISC) recruiting a little bit just cause it could turn some kids off.

And he's just flat out lying, what coach in Div 1 has such a bad contract that the school doesn't have any penalties if they fire him in the middle of a contract.
I guarantee you Bo has a big buyout in his contract.
No idea what he's trying to get across. He's leaving sentences hanging, all over the place, etc. I'd like to know who the coaches are who he said have been calling and congratulating him on his stance in this.
This is what I got out of it as far as how Bo treats the blocking and appealing said blocks.
But all he did was make excuses for what he did.....not a whole lot of transfer experience, jarrod didn't communicate...
Bo Ryan did not help himself by appearing on Mike & Mike this morning, IMO.
As a listener and sports fan, all it did for me was prove that he has unnecessarily gone out of his way to make this process miserable for this kid.

Someone made a bad PR decision by letting him do an interview. He came off even worse in person.
I agree here too and that is what I was thinking as far as how this may hurt him a little in recruiting because i'm sure there are quite a few kids (recruits) who are gonna see/hear this interview.
That's what I gleaned as well. But if this is what Ryan was trying to say, why didn't he just say (plain and simply): "I am using the appeals process as a way to force Jarrod to talk to me about why he's leaving - since he hasn't yet."
Still not sure I agree with that approach, but it definitely sheds some light on it. All of the other issues he brought up seemed to cloud his message, and make him look like an ***.
Also, "all coaches do this" is not an accurate statement. In MOST cases (I have no #'s) a player is restricted from the conference, and can go on their merry way. Lots of restrictions are the exception - that's why this is making news.
VERY peculiar situation. I did feel like Bo was preparing to take restrictions away after getting to speak to Uthoff. time will tell. Bo could have handled this SO much better. What a mess.
Now the Herd is ripping Bo Ryan on the same subject. This is great, and can only be good for ISU cause they are the only school in that list that makes absolutely no sense...
Bo Ryan needs to avoid dealing with student athletes, public speaking, and stick to things he is good at like....
