Yeah, I think something is going on with Mack. Either with school or off the field trouble.

You guys can kill me on this one if you want, but I am starting to question how bad we need him. I realize that we are not completely set at OL. However, all but one of our lineman is returning and Tibbs wasn't consistently a starter. From past reports, we have some great young kids in mix next year. The line wasn't half bad. Do we need to insert a JUCO lineman into the mix? I understand the competition factor, but there is something to be said about working with the guys you got and them feeling confident that the staff trusts they will do the work necessary. I don't think there is a complacency or lack of desire with that group.

That is exactly how I feel. I don't think we need to take chances on JUCO's with potential 'issues' no matter how good they are right now.

right, if he's got issues, then i say stop pursuing him. however, if he is clean and come in and contribute, then i want him on our team. competition for pt breeds excellence. i agree that the line did exceed expectations last year and should only get better next year, but you can never have too much depth at any position. even if mack wouldn't start for us, it would be reassuring to know that if someone goes down, we have a more then serviceable backup ready to go in-something that has been lacking in past teams

He can't come until Fall, and that's a big issue with an Offensive Lineman. As you say, grades must be an issue

How dumb do you have to be to not qualify out of Juco?

Its all work ethic... hope the coaching staff leaves him alone.

Is it a question of not graduating or not being able to obtain a 2 yr degree in 1 1/2 yrs?

Of course, there are some like Collins Eboh who couldn't get it done in 2 1/2 yrs.

Haha, I actually was looking for this guy on Rivals for a while before I realized this thread was 2 years old.
