Was just there this weekend. Trip took at least an extra half hour than what it took me last summer and the summer before. Maybe an hour. I did not experience any speed traps until I got into KCMO city limits.

Just drove it on Friday. The only real bad construction zone out of the three 10 mile stretches you will hit is the one just north of Liberty. It was backed up going south about 3 miles Friday afternoon around 6:00 pm. The other two were no problems.

The other one in downtown KC is bad at the wrong times of the day and drive slow thru this area, because the roadbeds for the detours are real bad.

There are speed traps in the construction zones, so be careful.

Was stuck going 5-10mph for about 10 miles north of Liberty, MO coming back on Sunday. Take Hwy 69 from Cameron to Liberty.

Watch for the Missouri speed traps in construction zones.

Now worries there. I have driven this 4 times in the last month, and if you can come within 5 mph of the limit I would be surprised. They contract you into one lane in the contruction zones, and the semis will guarantee you are breaking no laws.

There's construction, but what are you going to do about it? The alternatives are all way worse.

It's not that bad, though.

60mph on a rural Missouri highway for 15-20 miles beats crawling 5-10mph on Interstate 35 for that same distance.

Drove it this weekend and the big hang is the construction area at the Kearney exit. Getting through south of Osceola on the one lane per side was fine.

Great day Saturday in KC. Cards won and tons of cutie-pies at the Michael Buble concert that night. Well worth the road construction hassles.

If you are going to the East side of KC, take the Cameron exit and go East to Hamilton. Then South to I-70 thru Henrietta (home of the "Fightin Hens"). The stretch on I-35 from Liberty to Cameron was not good on Friday afternoon and Sunday afternoon. If you are traveling on July 4 weekend, it could be real bad.

Yeah, the construction sucked when I went back not that long ago. I ran into no construction between NW Arkansas to KC but as soon as I got out of KC it seemed like I hit all kinds of it, both in Missouri and Iowa.
