From the responses I got I can see this site is full of alcoholics that wont admit it. 1- There is no reason to need a CASE of Crown, goose neck or any other alcohol. 2-Ill avoid the crowd and sleep in over saving a few dollars per bottle 3- you all were probably the ones that went to Boone and sat outside for 12 hours waiting for the new mcdonalds to open up this week just to get a 1 $4 big mac a week for a year. You cant pass up that savings!

I go to this sale & buy liquor for the entire year, save probably $50+..

I also buy toilet paper in bulk even though I don't need 30 rolls each time I wipe my ass - is that ok?

This is probably the best booze sale in central Iowa and it only happens once a year. It’s more than just a couple bucks off per bottle. If you have an upcoming wedding reception/event/party/whatever you can save a ton of money, or if you’re like me just restock the bar.

Pricing will be released tomorrow. Sounds like some Hy Vees will match some of the Urbandale prices on certain things.

One note on this, and maybe my experience is different than others. But I went in the middle of the day Saturday last year, and they still had basically everything in stock, and plenty of it. So I didn’t really see any need to get there early. Got plenty of Crown to last awhile. Also got a bottle of scotch on sale as well.

Some really good deals this year, good chance to stock up for basketball season and winter. Also some of these deals will be available at other metro Hy Vees so you might be able to avoid the chaos at Urbandale depending on what you want. My understanding is that Urbandale will have all their cash registers open Saturday morning to handle the insanity.
