Makers and Captain were already gone when I showed up. Not too surprised

They had 250 cases of Makers which is the same # of last year. If you want Makers dont wait till Sunday as it will probably all be gone by tomorrow afternoon.

I went on a Sunday a few years back and they still had everything. They usually do a good job at restocking quickly.

Normally the sale is Saturday and Sunday but they started on Friday this year. They will run out of stuff this year.

Was there waiting in the pharmacy from 5-530 today, watching all the full carts go by. Damn impressive how much some can drink in a year (or less).

Seeing the lengths that folks are going to for this really makes me appreciate weekly specials at East Ames Hy-Vee. There’s not as much on sale at once, and some weeks are better than others, but the savings are comparable and don’t require camping out in advance.

Maybe? They have been having a Monday sale, sometimes random ones during the week, and (almost) always a bigger Thurs-Sat sale. Definitely half-page flyers by the register, and there’s an email list you can sign up for. Makers is 2/$32 this week, which didn’t strike me as unusual at all.

Spent a little there tonight. Rhorho probably would complain about the accident that police and fire where at for the intersection there. Definitely was a drunk already from the booze sale.

informative. I was viewing this from my experience with food/soda but yeah liquor is a whole different animal.

It is why liquor is typically more expensive in Iowa vs. border states. The state of Iowa has to make their cut, so we pay more.
