Neal is decent, but should not be a starter in my opinion. He does better when he doesn't have to play as many snaps.
I've been told by more than one person in the know that Rony Nelson does not look good in the weight room or on the field :/. Hope he improves because we need him!
2005 was one of the best defenses in ISU history. 2011 will be a very, very strong year though. The back 7 are the best since 2005. The front 4 don't have the firepower of the 2005 defense, but they are still very solid.

Betcha he blocks at least one FG this season. :wink:Hold off on your expectations of Irving. He has tons of potential and a great frame to work with... but he's basically a project. He is NOT going to play this year IMO. No chance.
Agree totally. What a great D-line, including one of my all-time favorite Cyclones, Big Play Curvey (whose personality matches his talent).
We all remember when #8 Iowa came to town that year and failed to get inside the 25-yard line, the entire game.
Its too bad the offense didn't pull their weight that year. That was the year that "could have been". Sigh.....
The offense was fine that year. The problems were the choke jobs that the defense (as good as it was) and the special teams laid down that year. A lot of the choking was on the wonderful John Skladany prevent.
-Baylor game. It's 3rd and 15. Late in the 4th. If we get the ball back, we'll have a chance to get the win. Shawn ******* Bell drops back to pass, and then scrambles for 16 yards. He was probably the slowest skill position player in Big 12 history.
-Nebraska. Game winning pick hits Leaders in the hands. We drop it. 2 plays, Hambone Ross goes untouched for the win.
-Mizzou. We surrender a game tying 80 yard drive with about 1:30 left to freshman Chase Daniel.
-KU. I can't even remember that **** bag QB they had (Bartram?) that just shredded us in the exact same fashion as Daniel did.
