For a while there I was kinda jumping on the UNI bandwagon. It's a good story for the state of Iowa. There are a ton of homegrown Iowa kids on that team, and several from the CR/IC area. And I like their head coach too.

However, I'm done now. I hope they lose in the 1st round. I also hope Wichita State smokes them in their 2nd meeting. I still like the team and coaches, but their fans and their media people have done it for me.

At this point I hope we do meet them in the tourney so we can smoke them by 20. One could argue they haven't beaten ANYONE. Wichita State and Iowa are there only 2 wins against a team with a pulse, and Wichita State is not very good.... and we know how bad Iowa is, especially early in the year when ISU and UNI played them.

The MVC is still a complete joke. Nothing against Daniel Stensland for ISU, but that's the kind of player that you're going up against night in and night out in the MVC.

I'm looking forward to playing their superior coach and superior program at a neutral site next year. After reading that board I hope ISU can keep within 40.

They are the greatest defensive team in the nation. Their backups and first year players would blow us out.

Back to non-UNI-board reality, I know Tuttle graduates but unsure otherwise. Still, a team that good should dominate for many many years over any team, when you're that unbeatable it doesn't matter who you bring back.

Drake had a few nice starters but their bench wasn't that different than Stensland and definitely not better than Jackson. Maybe Drake is the exception.

Of course they are a good team. If they were good enough to sweep the B12 on the road they'd be fighting UK for #1, not excited about beating a WSU team with zero quality wins. I doubt that they are elite, their fans in that thread have no doubts.

UNI is a good team in the MID-MAJOR but we haven't seen enough of them against Power 5 conference teams to determine if they're legit.

I hate talking about UNI on here, but I have to call this guy out. Gary Rima, the voice of the UNI Panthers (KABOOM) tweeted that UNI would have won @KU and @OU. They're drinking the koolaid after beating all those top 200 RPI teams.

I don't know anything about this guy other than he's a joke.



I don't think Division 3 schools (jimlad) should be allowed in the top 25. Once you get there after having 1 decent win, against a bad Iowa team, it's easy to keep moving up because you're playing crap teams. Next thing you know you have a fraud of a team in the top 10 because they just beat Illinois State. Please.

End the series, unless UNI wants to play at Hilton.

KU has lost 9 times in Phog Allen over the last decade so it makes perfect sense that UNI would win there. I mean, Bill Self has more conference championships than home losses, so like, duh.

I agree with your sentiment, and the MVC is a joke, but Stensland would find himself at the end of the bench on every single MVC team, just like at ISU.

If ISU plays like they have on neutral courts and away courts, ISU will certainly struggle keeping it within 40.
