Stat of the day. As on Feb. 13 14 of UNI's 23 wins (61%) have been against a team with a losing overall record.

I generated my proprietary computer rankings today. Iowa State came in at #13, Northern Iowa came in at #28, and Iowa came in at #30.

I can't believe this thread is still happening.

Some of you (Clone fans) sound like Hoks with all this little brother, thinking we're better than them $hit. It's making me a little sick.

Be happy for the in-state little guy making some noise. Of all Power 5 fanbases, we know best what it feels like to be the underdog.

I fail to concede that someone is a true ISU die-hard fan if they are happy about UNI doing well. Their fans are insufferable when they put together a decent season like this one. Just be glad Iowa is fading fast otherwise they'd be talking out of both sides of their mouth about their "favorite" teams.

I was staying away from this but now I've been sucked back in...

UNI would have loved to get to play Iowa State and we'd have our answer, but it was Iowa State who chose to not play UNI. On the old schedule this game would have been in Hilton this year, but apparently it was too important to make sure that Iowa State could get Lamar and Mississippi Valley State on the schedule.

9 out of 10 years UNI is no different than Lamar or MVS. congrats on your flash in the pan year. I feel like you're going to take that early tournament exit this year pretty hard...

Oh for the love of all things holy...ISU didn't "choose" not to play UNI in a year when they are having their most success ever - you can't predict these things. Just like the same UNI team (who ISU played last year and beat) didn't even make the tourney last year...sometimes things just fall into place for a special season.

If UNI is really that good, we'll see you in the tournament in March at some point. Until then, I really hope you'll just cool your jets and enjoy the success of your team rather than trying to pick a fight with ISU. You know the saying - be careful what you wish for...

That isn't true. UNI is generally a tough opponent, especially when they have a bunch of seniors.

I haven't read this whole thread so this may have been posted already, but Gary Rima is the worst announcer I've ever heard. I listened to the UNI/Wichita State game and his kaboom and what not statements are terrible and add nothing to the listening experience. His schtick is embarrassing.

I have proprietary rankings too. UNI came in at #1, ISU somewhere after that and Iowa was way in last.

It really is embarrassing. It's like a little kid playing with his favorite hot wheels set or something. Boom! Crash! I can't imagine what someone who is randomly driving through the state and hears the broadcast thinks. Talk about a bad image of Iowa life.
