Game started slow and ugly. Gave up layup after layup. Two Brynn treys would pull us back. KSU was defending the three and we weren't driving to break it. Posts were completely ineffective early and with the exception of Fallon, would be that way the entire game.

A change in the lineup moving Durr to the free throw line on offense instead of Seanna opened up the offense. Her height either gave her a shot or the collapsing D would leave s three open.

Durr's activity allowed her to make a living at the line. When the offense actually moved the ball it either resulted in a foul or a trey. Brynn was on fire from deep. About ten minutes in we saw Buckley take the floor for the first time since her huge game against Iowa. Thanks to the three and slightly better D and rebounding the ladies slowly moved ahead 24-18 with about 8 left.

The offense kept clicking and the inside out game spread the lead to 35-23 with three left. Having Durr at the free throw line really increased the quickness of our game. Fallon Ellis came in and did a great job on both ends.

The half came to an end with some very poor ball care by the ladies resulting in KSU getting closer and our ladies picking up silly fouls. Halftime score 36-25.

The second half started much like the first...careless ball handling leading to unforced turnovers. Also resulting in giving KSU more chances. Some they took advantage of.

The inside out game finally reappeared along with some solid D. Helped to extend the lead to double digits again. A bit of shock hit as Buckley went out with a finger injury. Appeared to be a dislocated finger. Moments later she was back.

Nikki was doing a terrible job of valuing the ball leading to several turnovers in the game. This allowed KSU to counter anything we did as they had multiple possessions with shots compared to us.

A line change of Durr, Buckley and Ellis came in to try to counter the fumblitis. It didn't help as the turnovers mounted and KSU crawled closer drawing within 4 with 9 min left (45-41). In ten minutes we had scored 9 points. Pure ugliness that was part KSU and part lack of focus by the sisters. After starting 5-10 from long we've gone 2-11.

More misses and a timely put back by KSU made it a 1 point game. Buckley would answer with a trey. More ineptness on offense and KSU would tie it at 50 only to, finally, be answered with another trey.

The defense continued to step up and KSU was forced to foul. The sisters made enough free throws to overcome their 21 turnovers. But the ladies would keep it interesting in a bad way committing fouls of their own and allowing KSU to score at the line. Finally the nailbiting was over and the sisters are 1-0 on the season.

Final 60-55.

POG - no doubt on this - Fallon did everything she needed to to keep Iowa State in this game

Biggest concern-turnovers obviously. Our guards did a terrible job of valuing the ball at times and running the offense coach set out for them to do. What made us successful in the first half I rarely saw on the second.

Secondary concern-lack of post play by anybody but Fallon.

Giving credit where credit is due-Kansas State was aggressive, physical, and quick. Well 80% of the turnovers were clearly sloppy play, but Kansas State did enough to make a difference for them.

Defense-some of our players have a tendency to flop way too easily. The officials simply were not going to call charges on those plays.

Refs were **** the last 2 minutes of the first half. Absolute ****.

We played like **** the first 13 minutes of the second half. It wasn't like K-State was forcing turnovers, we were just handing them the ball.

Te one thing that puzzled me was the use of Em. When she took the high post spot in the first half, her height allowed her to effectively ove the ball or shoot. In the second half you rarely saw that combination.

I agree on Em. Em opened up the zone. The only thing I can think of is her defense isn't there yet.

Any speculation from you guru guys on why Bell never saw the court? We were turning the ball over like crazy and she has shown she doesn't do that (at least in non-conference).

Not enough minutes with Jadda back?

Too short for the game play against that KSU D?

Not confident in her against tougher opponent?
