I am looking into getting few accessories for my truck more specifically, a bed cover and side steps, I was wondering if anyone had a suggestion of a place to go, both pricing and service-wise.

As far as bed covers go, I went with a Roll-N-Lock cover. It's a bit pricey (~$1k) but it has stood up to some abuse. It's also lockable, so I can put stuff in the back and lock it up like a trunk. Comes in handy! Plus, since it automatically rolls itself up, it's easy to open and close by myself.

I think Hawkeye Truck in Des Moines does a solid job

This does look very cool, but a little bit $$$ for my taste, I was leaning more toward the Truxsedo cover.

One note from my experience with my F150. I wanted a bed cover, but wanted something I could take off totally by-myself if I was hauling bulk items like dirt/mulch. I went with the tri'fold design shown in link. It was less expensive (around 800 I remember), and it is lightweight for removal, but it's not passing my durability test. Billed as a hard-top, the surface will indent easily, especially when hot out. Also, the rubber moisture barrier gasket on the underside of the cover is starting to split in places. Looks ratty.

Given the # of yrs I tend to own a truck, I wish I would have shelled out a few more bucks. At least I would not by this brand again.

I think Hogue's in Ames sells covers too.

I have ordered from this place online a couple times. Have not been to their place in Evansdale before though. I have a truxedo roll up cover on my truck. Can come completely off in short order putting it back on takes about 45 mins once you have done it a couple times.

I also ordered nerf bars for my truck from them too.

45 mins!?!?!? Honey, I'm going to be late, I gotta put the truck cover on.

:jimlad:

Although, if you can swing it, it'd be a good excuse to allow for a beer stop on the way home.

45 mins if you completely remove it from the truck. I rarely have to do that. It only takes seconds to open and close it.

Ahh, read it wrong. Thought it was a typo, with you trying to say it took 45 seconds to fold it up and fold it back down.

Carry on, as you were, apologies for the mis-intepolation.

Everytime i see someone with chrome/blue truck nutts I immediately think "Man, whoever drives that must be super cool." So maybe I would look into that!

I got a Access roll up tonneau a few years ago from American Truck in DSM
American Toppers Tonneau Covers

It was about $400 with install and I believe I got the "State Fair Special Price" but it was about a week after the fair I did it. Maybe 2 years ago this week, I was doing this.

Best $$$ spent on my truck hands down.
