Where can I buy treated fascia boards in Ames or Des Moines? Everywhere I’ve checked all they have is untreated.

I was checking Menards, Home Depot, Lowes, with no luck, totally spaced checking with lumberyards. Gilcrest Jewett is probably my first call in the AM.

Are you talking fascia 1x's for a deck or porch trim or actual fascia boards for a house? Plenty of 1x's in various sizes suitable of deck trim but not sure you will find treated lumber suitable for fascia board use on a house. Replacement for regular house trim would need to be kiln dried after treating of a premium wood, not going to find that.

Scherer Brothers here in Mpls area carries some treated lumber for decks that's kiln dried again post treatment. Pretty spendy but it is premium grade and actually dry so it's dimensionally stable. Thinking about using some for decking but it's stained a dark brown, not sure I like the color.

Damn it. Thread is a reminder I need to paint the fascia board between my stucco and roof line. It's 25 years old so was spliced together redwood pieces.

If you mean a 1x12 treated to use for deck fascia, good luck. I’ve been in the homebuilding and lumber distribution side for 26 years and I don’t know of anyone that stocks 1x12 pressure treated. 1x6 & 1x8 should be easy enough at most retail lumber yards. 1x12 cedar could be found fairly easily also.

Yeah I am looking for 1x12x12 and 1x12x10 for a new deck.

So what am I supposed to do if I can’t find treated fascia? Isnt the untreated going to rot a lot quicker?

Just saw that. Any recommendations on where I can find that?

I haven’t seen a treated deck with fascia. A big part of the fascia is to cover up a different looking beam or rim joist behind it. Since it’s all green there isn’t a huge need for it. 1x12 cedar should be easy to find at Munn lumber in Ames, if that is where you live. In DM Gilcrest, Beisser, Leachman, etc will have it.
