Fine, I'll take one for the team.I wouldn't chance it. I'd also include a picture of your friend and see if there are any people on CF willing to accompany her on a free trip to Mexico.

Careful, I think the OP may be running a scam. Once this "felon" can no longer travel with the group and it opens up for you, you'll end up dead with your organs harvested. That or you'll end up on Locked Up Abroad as a coke mule.
So your friend and the felon aren't responsible to pay for some share of the trip if he can't get in?
Depends on how close of friends they are and the type of relationship you have I guess. Technically the trip is "free" for all parties as OP is using points. I'd suggest coming up with an arrangement with said friend and boyfriend to repay OP if he isn't able to make the trip, even if it is with "free points" as they do have value. I used to work in loyalty management for a hotel chain, boy do I know how much some value points.
I've heard that Canada can deny entry if you have had a DUI. They never even asked me two years ago when I crossed the border.A buddy of mine took his son up to Canada on a fishing trip. When they got to the border, his son couldn't get in. He had been a clerk at a convenience store, and sold a girl cigarettes. He had asked for her ID which said she was old enough. But it was an expired DL -- sting operation. He got fired and had to pay some money for a misdemeanor.
Well, that particular crime is a felony in Canada. After hearing the story, to get around the problem, the border guards actually made him a Canadian citizen for the week. Photo ID and all. He then renounced his citizenship on the way back into the states.
