Did Tom Brady Intentionally Try to Injure Ed Reed? | Bleacher Report

One thing's for sure. If Ndamukong Suh had done it, it would have drawn a flag. Then again, Suh doesn't play QB too often.

So what do you think?

It was intentional. No question.. Just like the nfl does, they will "look" it over in the off season and decide how to adress the situation moving forward. It should warrant a penalty next season.

Yep, look it over and find a way to make a new rule that will penalize the defense. :) Brady's play would be a flag on Reed for jumping over a sliding QB.

Given the Ravens history of cheap shots, it looked like he was "intentionally" trying to protect himself. To compare it to Suh's play, and say he was trying to hurt Reed, is laughable.

Even if it wasn't intentional, it still should have been a personal foul. How many unintentional face masks get called, every one.

If the opposing player doesn't mean to do it, that doesn't make the move any less illegal.

That said, it was a cheap shot for sure.

He didn't want to get stepped on. Do think they he would risk injury to himself to try to injure Reed in a 1 second time window is really reaching.

But, everyone thinks Brady gets special attention and likely everyone will believe that the QB was trying to injure the safety

Brady doesn't like to even be bumped let alone have his foot get caught up in Ed Reed.

Why don't you take another look at the GIF. He is eyeing Reed the whole way and knew exactly what he was doing.

What is your explanation for him sliding for the first time in his career with his foot at a 45 degree angle at a defender. I would argue that it takes more conscious effort to do what he did yesterday during that slide than it would've for him to slide the way he has every other time in his career.

Oh well, scoreboard Tommy.

If Reed's foot had been planted in the turf it could have blown out his knee in horrific fashion.

He actually has more chance to get injured by putting his leg out there which is why it was stupid. It's pretty obvious he was trying to spike him though.

If you watch Brady when he's forced to scramble he is so uncoordinated with his legs. I don't think he's thinking about hurting someone else but more how to protect himself. Now if he would have had Pollard on the back of his jersey....

If all of this is the case, then why didn't he even pause to apologize?

Tom Terrific doesn't need to apologize. Tom Terrific puts his foot wherever he chooses, and it's on you to get out of the way.

All he needed to do to make it more clear he was being a sore loser was to say "Hi-yah!" in the middle of it. He got up and walked away, didn't help the safety up, didn't do anything even remotely contrite.

Pablum Pablo,
Congratulations to you. Your celebration is misguided, as I am not a huge Patriots fan.
Enjoy the next two weeks of Killer Ray redemption and crybaby Harbaugh Brothers stories.
