I think Ashley would have made more teaching school in Dallas than playing basketball. Will be interesting to see how the stars in the league feel about CC dwarfing their income.
We'll see if it's a "rising tide raises all ships" situation or not. I lean towards not but who knows.

Now that Clark is not in a Hawkeye uniform, I will root for her to do well. I'm hoping that she doesn't continue her antics though.
I watch WNBA some and can’t remember a court storm, so hopefully she’s fine with that drama at least. I hope the refs clamp down on her early and often, but they may view it as good for the league. They ejected one of my favorite players, Arike Ogunbowale, for not much in a game she played with Ashley when she was with Dallas. Will see if officiating changes for everyone, just for Clark, or they actually continue officiating as they have with everyone, including her. They are going to use her as the golden goose, so I imagine she will still get away with crap.

Tyrese Haliburton has fans from Asia constantly flying to see his games cheering for him specifically and making signs letting people know how far they came to see him. Iowans don't even watch the NBA in general and Iowa media covers a bench warmer for TWolves far more than an All Star starter on Indy.

That's an indication of how global the NBA is and how misleading the local Iowa media can paint things.
You missed another point on the TWolves player the Iowa media is infatuated with. He has a teammate who also played college ball in Iowa who plays more minutes and exceeds Garza's points, rebounds and assists but gets less notice by the Iowa media.

Washington DC is a local kid but Flint Michigan is a hired gun from out of state.

That stupid thinking as actually the best case scenario, the other root of what makes a player "local" is much uglier.

If someone follows Monte on social media they'd see there's not a bigger Cyclone for life.

I believe the WNBA shares the NBA rules in that if you go onto the floor you are arrested and banned from future games. They try to keep the security tight enough where they never have to escort someone out though.

Now that she's no longer in a Hawk uniform, I will basically lose all interest in her either way. We'll still hear about her for the next 10 years like we did with Shawn Johnson. Murph will continue to come across as Pee Wee Herman in a men's brothel. And I'll tune out because my hatred is for the Hawks, don't really give a **** about CC.

Iowa fans crawling over to an ISU fan site and asking if we saw how much money CC is making and how much her Prada dress costs, etc is just so sad and pathetic.

They so desperately need our praise and adoration of her. It’s as if they think she’s their own daughter or something?

Yeah the same game where Arike was ejected, I think a couple of Chicago players who left the bench were fined and one of those was suspended for a game. College officials seemed to have a different rule book for CC, guess we’ll see if the WNBA follows suit or just keeps hyping her in an attempt to finally make money.

I think the entire WNBA will be out, in a sense, to knock CC down a few pegs. I could be dead wrong, but I think there are going to be a LOT of WNBA players that don't feel like she deserves all these huge sponsors and millions she's raking in, and will be out to put her in her place.

Anyone feel similarly, or am I way off base?

I think I heard yesterday that since Diana Taurasi started in the WNBA, the 1st overall pick has averaged 17 ppg. Simply put I think she'll do well maybe not the amount of points at Iowa but she'll get hers. What I noticed in college was there simply weren't enough quick defenders that could cover her step back shot.
