Hard to know what to think of this recruit. This staff has proven they don't know how to utilize tight ends. :jimlad:

The Athletic just released their All American list.
Since its premium info, I won't say if a State of Iowa tight end made the first team or not. :chris:

Always cute when Iowa fans come to an Iowa State board to have a discussion with each other.

That's rough for a sixth year guy who's supposed to be a blocking TE.
He's not a great blocker against LB/DE. I mean he does fine but nobody has ever said it's like having an extra tackle on the line like Soehner was last year. He does well when spaced out wide against DBs, or shielding the ball carrier from pursuers in the open field.

Allen didn't look great. Don't remember him on any catches and he's the one Jacobs shedded before causing the Hall fumble.

He didn't look good, because he isn't that good. One would think a 6th year player would be much better than that.

Yes, Allen got thrown to the ground like a rag doll by Jacobs who then stripped the ball from Hall and Campbell scooped and scored. Huge play.
Oh wow, I just rewatched the highlight. That was a rough play for him. I was more focused initially on the bad hold on Vanvalkenburg that play but you're right.

My favorite derp moment from Allen was where he got juked out of his shoes by Hankins on the interception return.
