Ive seen people hate on this one, but people remember it 2 decades later, so it has to have some value there.

If only their corporate management hadn't driven the chain basically into the ground.

Maybe not exactly what you had in mind for this thread, but I saw this recently and found it pretty funny.
The video/song kind of explains it but the background here is that if the brand name of a product becomes so synonymous with the product, a company can actually lose their trademark.
Think of things like Kleenex, Frisbee, Jet Ski, Taser, etc. These are all brand names of these products, not the name of the products themselves.

Velcro is in this category, so the makers of Velcro made this video to try to encourage consumers to stop using the word Velcro. I'm not sure how serious this was, but the video is pretty funny.
