There are too many swimming and track events at the Olympics

It doesn't seem fair at all that one person an win a half dozen medals in swimming but basketball players play for three weeks to win one medal.

Having that many swimming events is like having a separate medal event for three-point shooting, dunk contest, free throws, etc.

Anyone agree?

But the basketball team gets 15 or so medals for that one event.

For team events like basketball I've had the thought before that they should count each individual medal the team gets for the overall standings.

I think it's a combination of everything in the world going to **** right now, but this is probably the least interested I've ever been in the Olympics. I've always prefered the Winter Olympics more as there are so many highly similar events in the Summer Olympics, but man do I not give a **** this year.

I have almost zero interest in the Olympics. Might watch the golf if it's on at a good time.
Ok, I fully agree with you, but watching Golf may be a step too far. That's like watching Baseball. 99% of staring at players and 1% of actual game.

I literally don't care. The Olympics may provide some passing entertainment value for me, but mostly I am just excited for them to be over because that means we will be that much closer to football season.

I get what you're saying and kinda feel the same way, but once it's on I'll be locked in for 2 weeks, and then from there it's college football. Almost out of the sports doldrums. Baseball and WNBA don't cut it for me.

I wish I cared more about the WNBA, but I am not going to start now out of spite. Maybe in a few years Audi Crooks can change the women's game for me.

Baseball is meh for me too, at least until after the all-star break/trade deadline. Even then I only watch box scores, I never actually watch a game until the playoffs. My team is never on TV so that doesn't help.

I disagree with you but respect your opinion. I can see your point through. I am biased because Track is my all time favorite sport, both as a competitor and a spectator.

Curious, under your train of thought would you say Gymnastics also would be considered unfair?
