I grew up in western iowa and I did attend the university of South Dakota first. Then noticed it was too small for my taste, plus sd people are just weird. I am glad i found my way to ISU though.
My Dad did just the opposite. But then again I guess he is sort of weird!
He loves his Coyotes and the Clones still though, so it is cool.
A lot of those schools offer tuition breaks for neighboring state residents. I don't think Iowans get that favor at Minnesota, Nebraska, and KU. UNO maybe, but not sure.
Is anybody really all that surprised about ISU being THE Representative college for the state of Iowa? I am not. What with the extension offices located throughout the state, and the ag focus of Iowa?
ISU does a great job of recruiting the top students in Iowa, and also challenging them when they get on campus. ISU's honor program is fantastic from what I remember. I know that they do a very good job of preparing the brightest ones for graduate school.
