The tweet about Prohm taking weeks to find a replacement would lead you to believe he's going to take a hard look at options outside the "organization" which is surprising to me.

That or he wants to make every effort to find another guy that sounds almost exactly like him during halftime interviews with John and Eric.

I'm happy for Berry, and it speaks well of our program that our assistants are in demand. I wish him nothing but the best but I'm not a fan of him getting poached by a conference rival. I suppose most of it can be picked up by good scouting anyway but that's a lot of inside info going to a team we have to play 2 or 3 times a year.

Given his history of promoting from within, I'd be stunned if Prohm made any other move.

And this could have been the plan all along. It could be Prohm knew that Berry was going to move on and he got Graham in place in anticipation of this. Similar to what he did with Berry.
Also, I don’t see it as a big of loss as CW does.

With the July recruiting period coming up we will need someone on the road filling in for Berry. Even if we don't have an official hire by then I imagine Byers or Graham will be on the road as a interim assistant coach.

Berry was brought in as an unproven coach and worked his way up to that s $220.
Berry was a full time assistant for a low mid major that had a share of regular season conference championship, and also had stints as full time assistants at South Carolina and Western Kentucky... he didn't really have as much experience as other assistants, but it's not like we picked up some random Grad Assistant from another school when he first got here.

TJ was a bigger loss when he left for SDSU. Out recruiting has been fine since then. It'll continue to be solid as long as Prohm is here. It sucks, but if no one else wants your assistants, you've got problems.

I get Berry wanting to keeping moving and moving up, but going to Texas now with Shaka feels like being the last man to board the RMS Titanic.

At least the last guy on the Titanic, didn't know the ship was going to sink. The dollars make up for the short term employment though. Who knows Shaka might turn things around down there. I was worried when Shaka went to Tx. but the longer he is there the more it seems like a McDermott hire.

Maybe I've missed something, but why does everyone want Graham? Is there something we can point to that he's done? If Prohm thinks he's the best option, so be it, but I feel like I'm unaware on the reasons why people want him to get promoted.

Someday everyone will realize Shaka is overrated and his success at VCU was all Will Wade.

I think a lot of us, myself included, think he would be really good on the recruiting trail based on his past experience training pro's

Ah, I didn't know if it was conjecture or something I missed with him. I'm not sure that's enough reason for me, but if Prohm thinks its the best way to go, I'm cool with it.

I echo what you're saying, plus listening to his interview w/Jared a couple months ago, you can tell he's a young, energetic guy that's hungry. Been a grad assistant with us for a year already, so he knows the system, knows our coaches and players, knows Ames etc. Way better candidate than someone from the outside
