The only thing this thread lacks is that Tech fan that posts here occasionally... but only for his awesome avatar.

I doubt he touches the linked prediction with a 10 foot pole

I can understand if they doubt how good we will be but 9th is laughable. Do they ever get tired of being completely wrong about ISU?

I posted a thread on March 16th, before any teams really made any offseason moves.

Here's what I had:

1. Kansas State
2. Kansas
3. Okie State
4. Iowa State
5. Texas
6. WVU
7. Baylor
8. Tech
9. Oklahoma
10. TCU

Keep in mind, BEFORE offseason moves occurred. I don't think K-State wins it anymore, but I'm still pretty confident in this and think it's more accurate than Tech's WITH offseason moves occurring.

Sad that this is still more believable than what they posted. He doesn't mention any returns for ISU or transfers. Cocaine is a heck of a drug...

1. Kansas state - These guys should be great. That Spalding kid is a lights out shooter and defender. Add that one 7ft 3 kid in the mix and this team is DIE NO MITE!! And as long as Chris Weber is still coaching they will be winning the Big 12 this year and going deep into the ncaa tournament!

2. Texas Tech - Look i know what your thinking... what???? why??? how??? I'll tell you how. Tubby is the best basketball coach in 'merica. Period. Throw that in there with this 6'11 Kravic dude who definitely some how can do something to help this team win. AND We have the greatest handicapped player in the country with LUKE "FLOPPING" ADAMS! Word on the street is he is getting some brand new hearing aids. He will be a Big 12 player of the year candidate. BOOK IT

3. Texas - It's texas. They just win games. Mack Brown is reloading every single year with all that top talent.

4. Nebraska - This is the year the Huskers bring the magic BACK to the Bob Devaney Sports Center. I have no clue who is on this team, but im 44% sure that they average more white guys per team then anyone in the Big 12. And after their 2 year sabbatical in the crazy difficult Big 10, these guys are more then ready to play down to the Big 12. All of this renewed husker fan support is amazing, which will propel this team to a record year. Put this down as my sleeper pick to make a final four run

5. Baylor - Ok so that Griner guy is finally gone, but they will still be winning ball games. I really only pulled this name out of a hat so i have no other points to make for them

6. TCU - Momma always said if you dont know if its ABC or D, just answer C. And since i have no clue where to put TCU, i will just throw them in the general vicinity of the letter C. THANKS MOM

7. OSU - Now that Shaka Smart and Steve Nash have finally left for the NBA, this team is left barren. Boone Pickens' money will win this team atleast 5 conference games, but that is it

8. Oklahoma - I couldn't name anyone that played for the Sooners since Blake Griffin went pro. So they will probably suck again and keep looking forward to football season

9. West Virginia - My boss was reviewing this and noticed that i didnt have these guys on the list. He then said lick my nine. I have no idea what that means so im guessing he wants them at #9!

10. Kansas - Bill Self lost everyone! And its looking like he may have a 3 year rebuilding project on his hands! Poor guy.

11. Iowa State - We beat them last year, so they pretty much suck. No chance in hell they win more then 7 games

1.) Kansas, anytime you have "the next LeBron" on your team, alongside great talent and greater coaching, you pick them.
2.) Oklahoma State, a lot of pressure for this team after a dismal performance in the NCAA tourney. Return their best 3 players who are very good, including Marcus Smart who will be the 2nd best player in the league next year. Their lack of coaching puts them here.
3.) Iowa State, the wild card in this league. If the talent pans out, this team will be a threat come March. If the talent is not as good as hoped, could be a long year.
4.) Baylor, people might not like this pick, but losing Pierre Jackson is going to cripple this team. The twin towers down low were serviceable last season, but can they lead a team? I don't think so.
5.) Oklahoma, Two words: Lon. Kruger. Oklahoma lost a lot but I have faith in that coach to get them to a top 5 finish in the league. Plus I really don't know what they added.
6.) Texas, i am not a Rick Barnes fan by any means, but he can lead this team who is still very young to this finish. last years team had flashes of their potential and its up to Barnes to maximize on it.
7.) West Virginia, this team should be a little more adapted to the Big 12. its going to be a struggle as they are still fit for the Big East. it should change in the next few years but right now they just arent Big 12 ready.
8.) Kansas State, lets see how the reigning COTY handles this. I doubt he handles it well. Lost their their best players who arguably lead the team to a 1st place tie last season. Didn't add much to help fix that either.
9.) Texas Tech, losing Josh Gray hurts, badly. Tubby Smith has his work cut out for him.
10.) Texas Christian, had a chance to 8th or 9th but just not enough talent to get them over the hump.

Considering Lon Kruger has finished last in conference play only once in 23 seasons, and lower-division only twice, provides a sense of how poorly considered the prediction is.

And then it gets ever sillier!

Based on sheer entertainment value this is the best prediction I have read this year. Maybe ever.

After last year, I'm pretty well convinced that Baylor will not finish ahead of us.

I don't care who they're bringing in, because they return the guy on the bench.

To play the other side of the fence, it's actually an interesting off-course analysis — but it's too radical in too many places.

The most legitimate "outlandish" guess is having Huggins finish in the upper-division, despite reasons to predict a realistically lower finish (similar to my Kruger historic argument above).

But you have to discriminate and go chalk at least a little. Do we actually think KU might be toppled from the perch in the same season that has WVa, Texas and Tech finish above KSU; and TCU above Iowa State?
