Hey. Im a TT idiot. I'm coming into pretty much a 50/50 game, and it's at your house. We got our ***** kicked by you lately, but this year is going to be different. We got better, you did not. Signed every idiot tech fan trolling here.

In my opinion TT is at worse equal to ISU at the skill positions and most likely a little more talented overall there. However, what hasn't been brought up is how physical this team is.
A Hawkeye fan I work with gave ISU the ultimate compliment after the game and remarked how physical they played.
I'm worried that the team might not execute or Bad Jantz will show up but I do know that this team will definitely play a hard nosed physical game and has the depth to keep it up for 60 mins that I don't think TT has faced yet.
If ISU wins it won't be because they are more talented than TT but because they played a more physical game and executed.

Interesting thoughts on OSU's offense. A one trick pony? Very interesting. Shocking that such a simplistic offense dropped 63 points on that vaunted Raggie defense in less then 3 full quarters of football. Luckily they called off the dogs before things got really embarrassing for Tech. :twitcy:

These guys can have their thoughts about the season ahead of them. We may think they are delusional but oh well. I mean if they have a rough year this is going to make it even harder for them. That is the thing about hawk fans too. They think everything revolves around their team when in reality all teams improve, not just their team. Tubberville, in my opinion, is not that good of a coach. He never took the blame at Auburn and is doing the same at TTech by firing coordinators. All good teams have consistency in their coaching staffs...he does not. Tech may have the better athletes but I fully expect them to get outcoached in this game.
Steele couldn't find anyone more deserving of this honor outside the Big 12? Really. How about Michigan who has 2 losses and squeaked out a 6 point win over Air Force at home yet is still receiving 44 votes, 34 more than Tech.
I just don't understand this logic. Texas Tech has the most returning starters in the Big 12, yet I constantly see on this board where TT hasn't faced this or hasn't faced that or has only played cupcakes. The Texas Tech players have played and started in more high level Big 12 football games than any other group of players we'll face the entire season. ISU might outplay us, might out coach us, might be more physical and win the game, but it's not going to be because Tech players haven't faced any tough competition.
A couple of ironic things about the Tech fans statements about their "much improved" team...
1) Injuries. How many times have we heard that the reason they lost to ISU last season was due to their team being ravaged by injuries. "Boo hoo... we had 3 offensive lineman playing with torn ACL's"... "Boo hoo... we had 3 walkon guys playing in the secondary"... "Boo hoo... we were playing our 3rd string running back due to injuries"... etc.... That team ravaged by injuries beat a highly ranked Oklahoma Sooner team in Norman the week before with all of those injuries. Verdict: Pathetic excuses after being dominated.
2) It was Doege's first full year of playing football in over 2 years. He was inexperienced and rusty. Interesting... a guy that threw for over 4,000 yards, 28 touchdowns, only 10 int's, and completed nearly 70% of his passes on the season yet only managed to put up 171 yards passing, 0 touchdowns, 2 int's, and completed only 50% of his passes against what Tech fans call a poor ISU defense. It was his second lowest passing yardage total on the season, his lowest completion percentage on the season, one of only 2 games all season he didn't throw a touchdown pass, and the fewest completions in a game in his career as the Raggie starting QB. Verdict: Embarrassing excuses for being dominated by the ISU defense.
3) The Raggie defense is much improved this season. Just look at the stats they have put up gaining them a defensive ranking in the top 3 in the country. Congratulations Raggies! It is extremely impressive how far that defense has come from averaging giving up 46 points per game against Big XII teams last year to being a top 3 scoring defense in the country against teams such as #99 New Mexico, #106 Texas State, and a Northwestern State team that isn't even ranked in the top 38 in the FCS division. We have heard that Texas State is actually a good team because they beat Houston... #108 Houston. Northwestern State is good because they put up good offensive numbers against Nevada... A Nevada team that is ranked 81st in yards allowed, 99th in passing yards allowed, 60th in rushing yards allowed, and 80th in first downs allowed. Verdict: Most people with any common sense would look at Tech's defense and say that they are most likely much closer to the defense that gave up 46 points per game to teams with a pulse last season then they are to a defense ranked in the top 10 after 3 games against teams that have no pulse at all.

I posted this in the "respect" thread last night :
"I dont doubt that TTU was hit hard by the injury bug last year and I know how frustrating that can be, it sucks. It does happen in college football though. Theoretically we were without our starting QB (Jantz started the year and was hurt in game 3 and played poorly after that to get benched) starting RB (Shontrelle Johnson), OT (Burris broke his leg vs UT) arguably our best player in Jake Knott had a broken arm going into the season and was in a padded cast all year added to the fact that he separated his shoulder, twice, yep twice in the Baylor game and popped it back into place himself and didnt miss a play.
The point here is that each team has its challenges with injuries, lets not let those challenges turn into excuses. The best we had at the time beat the best you had at the time. End of story."
The jist is that ISU wasnt 100% healthy either, each team had their injuries. Also, I will call their "rusty" QB and raise them a RSFr who was starting his first game.
We completely dominated that team last year and there is no excuse that I have heard that even comes close to rationalizing why other than the obvious which was ISU was the better team on the field that night.
Could TTU come here and challenge the heck out of ISU, absolutely. Last year was last year and these are two different teams with different players. I believe that ISU is better now than they were last season when they played TTU. TTU may also be a better team than they were at that time.
Lets hope that the home crowd helps the men on the field take care of TTU and put this issue to bed.
Let me help you with this logic. If you have the most returning starters, that may not be a good thing. You mean the same starters that we put up 41 points on? The same starters that the rest of the Big 12 made their whooping boys last year? OK, we will watch out for those guys lol.
Exactly. When your team finishes in 9th place in a 10 team conference and gives up an average of 46 points per game in conference games.... you might want to find some new blood to come in and play. I wouldn't be celebrating all of the returning starters.
It isn't about not having faced tough competition previously... they did last season. They were also dominated in nearly every single one of those contests. I would say the only reason for their "on paper" improvements is the fact that they have played some of the weakest teams in college football.
