While I expect we will play better I also do not expect Tech to shoot 6 of 15 from the free throw line and 3 of 17 from three on Tuesday.

This game makes me nervous as hell. I know this team is different and has surprised me. but I have a feeling we loose big. I hope I am wrong but I am thinking something like 70-52.

They shoot 1-14 from 3 and lose to Baylor by 5
They go to Lawrence, play 5 on 8 and lose by 1
Lost at OU getting outshot at the FT line 1-17.

Unless they just forget how to play I think this will play out similar to the Creighton game.

I can't be nervous for another house money type of game for ISU.

Not real sure there's really any bad away losses on the schedule right now considering the capability of all teams.

Tech has the 3rd best home court in the conference after Hilton and Phog. I wonder how impactful this being Tech's 4th game in a week will be on their stamina..

They are back to full strength. SO that will help, but I think a combination of home game, full roster and payback from our win in Ames leads to a 65-57 final. Tech controls the game but we hang around.

**If we can find a way to win this one.. You are looking at a real chance of being a 4 seed or higher come March. That likely lands us in Milwaukee. I will be reserving a hotel room in Milwaukee for the first weekend if we win tomorrow night!!

My prediction: I don't have a clue but I do know it will be entertaining.

By entertaining I mean. I will turn on the TV at 8:00 and watch it. This is more than what I did last year at this time. At 8:00 I will have a true belief Iowa has an opportunity to win the game. This is more than I did 3 months ago.
Regardless how this season plays out, or where they finish, or where they go, it is simply exciting to be excited again. Saturday's come to a stop again for 2 1/2 hours during game time. There is a buzz in the air during the weekday when they play that night. This has all been missing the last 2 years. I might be all caught up in the excitement and the Kool-Aid, but this is one of my favorite teams in a long time. Long time. I am fascinated how every player knows their specific role and TJ gets them to mesh. Fascinating and entertaining.

It's tough to win on the road, but when they are dialed in they are tough team to beat. Do I predict a loss? Not that hard to. Do I predict they steal a win? Not that hard to.

Lubbock doesn't make me as nervous as it use to under Fred. Not because I hate Fred.....it's because Tech has become a better team so if ISU loses down there....I get it. Back then they were almost beyond terrible and still would give ISU fits.

So yeah, Tech is good.....but so is ISU and I think after the UT game our guys are going to start stepping it up a notch in conference play.

The only game the guys have been flat out beat was at OU.

Unless they just forget how to play I think this will play out similar to the Creighton game.

only “flat out beat” was completely dominating a team on the road for 30 minutes with a 17-1 ft disadvantage.

Can ISU win if the score is in the 50's? (yes, we already did this year, but I'm talking this game specifically w/ Tech mostly at full strength now).

If they play they way they did on offense against Texas, I think they can go on the road and win it. But will likely come down to execution in the final few minutes.

But can they play on offense the way they did against Texas? Not that Texas wasn't tough defensively, it's like Tech is defensively another level up and doesn't allow you to run your offense for the most part.

With Tech at full strength, there is now way we win if scoring in the 50s.

At the same time, taking the last game and going "they'll be massively better because they're at full strength" doesn't necessarily tell the whole picture either.

Officials seemed to swallow their whistles in that game (probably afraid to foul out a shorthanded team early) for about 35 min, then suddenly called everything, at which point things eventually got better for us.

Officiating will probably, for better or worse, be called differently in Lubbock. Who knows how that goes.

We need to hit at least 40% of our 3s. We need to rebound better than we did against Texas. We need to limit their runs to keep the crowd out of the game. We also need to limit the backdoor opportunities we gave in the last game at home.

With that said I think we lose by 5-10 points. Tech is good and it's TOUGH beating an upper echelon opponent on the road this year. If we pull it out it's (obviously) a HUGE win.
