It's true that Ferentz said he's been medically cleared to play. It's also true that Ferentz said he was medically cleared to play against Syracuse. They are going to evaluate him in practice today and tomorrow and see how he performs--emphasis on "performs." In his presser and on Cotlar this morning, Ferentz used the analogy of a bad ankle. Just becasue he's okay medically doesn't mean he's able to be at 100% effectiveness in a big time college football game.

Having said that, Tate will play. And ISU still rolls!

he's gonna play, and I'd be stunned if he even looks hurt out there. Of course, if we win, regardless of how healthy he looks, Iowa fans will talk about him being hurt...

Coach Mab better not let his players have any sense of confidence this week since Tate is hurt. A lot of players might assume with him somewhat hurt, that they will win easy. Mac has to be as hard on them as he can. We play soooo much better when we are the underdog.

He'll either play and not be effective, or this was all some kinda joke to lull Iowa State into some false sense of confidence where they bomb it out all game. If they dont have a running game, they are screwed.
