Is it too early to look at forecasts for Saturday Night/Sunday Morning? It looks like the model are predicting a dumping on the Iowa/Missouri border.

To be fair to Mr Earl, that map is 120 hours so 5 days out. That means we will get shellacked on Sunday...... And yes I made that word up.....I think.

The only problem is that his maps on Monday showed a ton of snow in Des Moines in the next 120 hours and it never panned out. 120 hours would have went from Monday to Friday.

I think we can look at whatever forecast we want because nobody knows **** all about what's going to actually happen regardless of what day it is.

Isn't that what we looked at on Monday? Wasn't that the topic of the OP?

Ok, ok, end smartassery.

Right now, looking like mainly lighter totals across the state, best chance for over 3 south of I-80, worst in Northern Missouri.

So probably a blizzard then?

And it sounds like next week's snow storm to end all snow storms will actually be rain and freezing rain.

So, for those keeping score, earlier this week we were staring down the possibility of back to back to back monster snow storms over the next week. One fizzled. One looks to be light here in central Iowa. And the other could amount to just rain.

But that storm system lining up for 3/17 looks like a legit 20 incher.

And which real meteorologist actually ever predicted all that?
