How can you win AP player of the year but not the heisman?
I have lost all respect for the heisman.

It's a joke that Suh was fourth place in the Heisman. I thought for sure he would be top two.

Heisman seems to be a popularity contest in alot of cases. Unfortunate, but appears to be near truth.

check out the voting :
Ndamukong Suh, DT, Nebraska 26
Toby Gerhart, RB, Stanford 20
Mark Ingram, RB, Alabama 6
Colt McCoy, QB, Texas 6
Tim Tebow, QB, Florida 1

That is about how I would have placed the Heisman

All you got to do to win the heisman is either be the quarterback or running back of one of the top 2 teams in the country.

I think one of the main problems with the Heisman is the voting date. Voting shouldn't be allowed to take place until after all regular-season games have concluded.

Even though everyone in the conference knew about him, Suh didn't have the major groundswell of support by national media until after the Big XII title game. And it seems like many of the voters had already submitted their ballots before that monster performance.

Would he have won if the vote was held later? Who knows, but it would have been closer.

There were only two legitimate Heisman candidates, Suh and Gerhart. If either of them would have won it, I would have been satisfied. The other three finalists were far from deserving. The only thing they had going for them was they played for three of the top teams in the country.
