The ticket office is offering students the opportunity to buy tickets on the sidelines for this weekend. If students bring their ISU ID to the ticket office they can buy tickets where the Cydeout Crew normally sits (stands) during volleyball games. But you have to buy the tix by 5 pm today or they'll be released to the public.

Where did you get this from?

E-mail from Iowa State Athletics:

Iowa State students,

WE NEED YOU! The ISU Athletics Deparment is offering Iowa State students an exclusive opportunity to purchase tickets in the lower sections of 131-134, right along the court of Hilton Coliseum for the volleyball NCAA first and second rounds on Friday and Saturday.

DON'T WAIT! These seats are only guarranteed until today (Tuesday) at 5 pm, after which they’ll go on sale to the general public.

All session reserved tickets are only $14 (includes all three matches). A CY's Pass or Olympic Sports Pass will NOT grant admission to Hilton Coliseum.

HURRY UP! To ensure a seat with other Iowa State students, purchase your ticket today!

To purchase, visit the Athletics Ticket Office today (Tuesday) between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. You must show your ISUCard at the ticket office in order to purchase a seat assigned for students.

Friday, December 4
5 pm - Wichita State vs. Saint Louis
7:30 pm - #7 Iowa State vs. George Mason

Saturday, December 5
6:30 pm - winner of match 1 vs. winner of match 2.

After Tuesday, all tickets will be assigned by best available and can be purchased calling 888-478-2925, clicking cyclones.com or visiting the athletics ticket office.

We hope to see you in Hilton Coliseum on Friday!

Little annoyed season ticket purchasers didn't get something long these lines....

You never know, with the showing of the students, Christy might've asked for it.

And not the season ticket holders?

Point being - it would seem that the AD held these seats back from the beginning. The season ticket holders didn't get that same perk.

I'm going to ask CJL about this at the Cyclone luncheon today.

Do they have an e-mail list with all your guys' stuff like they do with students? (Not trying to be a smart ***...I just simply don't know)

Yeah - I get stuff maybe weekly/bi-weekly. Got the ticket announcement on Sunday.

Tried to find it to make sure there wasn't something in there, but already deleted it. So perhaps I'm wrong and there is/was. Given Tornado Man doesn't know about it either, I'm guessing there wasn't.

Not a big deal. You just hope for a perk here or there when you do such things. And my seats for the weekend aren't NEARLY as good as I've grown accustomed to this season....

What I'm more mad about is that I made about 10 matches this fall, and didn't know a thing about that frequent attendee contest - the one with the Allegiant voucher. Man - really could've used that.

Sorry for a slight thread detour -- a frequent attendee contest also ishappening with wrestling, although at the first meet the forms weren't where the Web site said, and there was no one around to get it stamped or punched or whatever. I sent a note about it to Nathan Terry and still haven't heard back. Last year we found out way too late there was something at wrestling meets, then, too.

For all the attendance things, you need to go to the Marketing table by the north entrance. That's where they always are, at every sporting event at Hilton.

As for the reserved seating, what's the problem? Everyone had the same chance to buy reserved 2-session seats at the same price at the same time. They held back a student section just like they do at every single other sporting event. Why are you complaining?

I'm going to ask CJL about this at the Cyclone luncheon today.

CJL said that because there is no precedent for offering a special section for season ticket holders, that's not something they looked into. She did say that it sounds like a great idea for future NCAA hosting events!
She also said that the ISU fan support has now made this one of the "destination jobs" in womens' VB.
