Peralta is coming back Tuesday and apparently has been playing a lot of 3rd in the minors. Looks like we will have surplus of infielders. Who gets moved?

I think it will be Garcia, he has cooled off lately.

Despite a frustrating start the Cardinals are a half game out of the playoffs right now. Mets are 1.5 games up for the first wild card. Pirates and Dodgers are tied for the second spot with Marlins and Cardinals 0.5 game back. Good to see STL right in the thick of things even with the pitching being a disappointment so far

I think it's between Garcia, Wong, and Hazelbaker. Mozeliak has been making lots of references lately that "Wong is definitely part of our future ball club," which to me says we may send him down now, but he should know he's not being traded. Hazelbaker got off to a torrid start in April, but has struggled to hit lately with a bunch of strikeouts. Matheny tends to give preference to veteran players which, for some reason, includes Hazelbaker because he's older. It takes Matheny a while to warm to up new guys and he hasn't showed much favor for Wong at all in the past couple of years. That being said, it's Mozeliak that makes the moves, not Matheny. My guess is either Wong or Hazelbaker goes down.

Wong sent down to make room for Peralta. They must feel good about Jhonny or Aledmys playing 2B.

There's a guy in your system named David Washington that isn't in your top 30 prospects. I watched him Saturday night against the I-Cubs and his stats jumped out at me. In just 29 games for the Redbirds, he has 10 homers, and was hitting .293 before the series started.

Only two issues I noticed were that he strikes out a lot (44 k's in 29 games) and if he ever did touch the ball, it was going directly into the shift.

Jhonny Peralta in his 2 games since returning: 2 R, 2 B, 1 HR, 5 RBI, .444 AVG/.500 OBP/1.000 SLG

Lots of season left. It'll be tough to catch the Cubs unless they go on a big drought, but securing a wild card spot at minimum is the goal and the Cards are on pace for that right now.

Five game winning streak! Kinda crazy that we got swept by PIT in the season opener but swept them just two months later

If we can just get close enough so the youngsters start looking over their backs. The meltdown would be epic. So much fun to watch. 1969 all over again.

Interesting seeing Wong, Hazelbaker, and now Grichuk spending time in Memphis. And not interesting in a good way
