I believe it has something to do with the OK High School basketball state tournament being played on their home court.
Let's hope that ticker moves as slowly as it did in the first half in Hilton.

Big 12 has been scheduling a Friday night game on the last weekend of regular season play for a couple of years now. ISU played at Morgantown on a Friday night just one season ago.
It does feel weird to have a B12 game on a Friday night. As it gets closer I am a fan, prime time game to show case the big 12.
Good experience for the young ISU players to play in on awkward night and since it involves Trae Young, ESPN will be showcasing this game and there will be plenty of college basketball fans tuned in.
I wouldn't want have a Friday conference game more than once a year but, it is a nice change of pace to end the season with.

When the TV contract went to all games on an ESPN network, and the Big 12 Network with affiliates went away, the Big 12 has had 1 Friday night game on the last weekend of each season.
Last year it was ISU @ WVU.
2016 it was Texas @ OSU.
2015 it was Tech @ Baylor.
Look at the bright side. A Friday night game will give ISU an extra day of rest and preparation for OU, OSU, BU or UT.
