Compared the the big money in P5 athletics, a $500,000 raise is not a giant pay increase when he can make $2 mil easily at a P5 school.

I am told Toledo is prepared to make Iowa State target Matt Campbell the highest paid coach in the MAC.

Which equates to at least $802,501. Currently he makes $496,450. Toledo can't match an offer from ISU or any other P5 school.

1. If it is the Toledo coach, I like it. He's the one that I wanted.

2. For those of you ******** about Pollard not keeping it quiet, when Pollard was involved the coaching searches were kept quiet (McDermott, Chizik,Rhoads, Fred), when Leath has stuck his nose in it names have gotten out (this search, Prohm). You all seem to think Leath is the best thing that has happened to Iowa State athletics, this is what you are going to get when more people know what is going on.

3. I wouldn't necessarily believe that Iowa State has cancelled other interviews.

Well, if Campbell and Pollard had a handshake deal and Campbell renegs, he isn't someone we wouldn't want anyway.

Don't do business with anyone who's handshake is worthless.

I don't think Campbell leaked. It's more likely it came from his agent. Hell, it could be a friend of the family.

Based on the article posted earlier, Campbell seems like a stand up man.

According to the USA Today database Toledo has an overall AD budget of $26 million and $13 million of that is subsidies. I dunno where they'd pull the money from to go above $2 million. And I hope our opening offer was at least $2 million.
