Big Flats beer from Walgreens is a cheap, sh**ty beer that you could easily find around here.

Pearl Light is pretty bad, but you may have to go to Texas to find it. Maybe you could bring some back after one of ISU's away games down there.

Hamms is my favorite "sh**ty beer". ISU always seems to have good luck when I drink it.

Strohs, Pig's eye, Beer 30 Ice (or light, it doesn't matter), numerous old beers in the back of my fridge that I'd be willing to donate. I've got a 18+ month old habanero sculpin with your name on it.

Story time:

I went to a Christmas party while in college. One of the faculty was dressed up as Santa and was going to randomly hand out the under $2 gifts people brought. One guy brought his wrapped gift, handed it to Santa and whispered in his ear. We all thought, "What was that all about?" When the "lucky" recipient opened the gift we all understood - it was a 12 pack of Shaffer's Light that had to go to someone of legal drinking age. A twelve pack of Shaffer's Light - including deposit - was under $2. Now that was some quality brew.

Drank a lot of Red, White, & Blue in the 1980's. Ugh. I think they still make it.

Thunderhead Jalapeno Ale is pretty bad.

OMG, I totally forgot about Schaefer. ... Although, now that I think of it, that's probably a good thing.

Re: Cheapness — not adjusted for inflation ... I recall in my "budget-college-days," you could buy a case of RW&B at People's Drug (!) for something like $4.79.

Considering the "quality" of the beverage, I'm surprised I remember that at all.

Since the goal of the podcast (apparently) isn’t an attempt to determine “worst beer ever,” but to review crud-brew, I’ll nominate a few that I *think* still are available. (Some of these already mentioned):

• Blatz
• Keystone Light
• Old Swill (underrated s***** suds, in a pinch)
• Stroh Light

I'll drink some Hamms on Saturday, and if ISU wins we will know why. If that works, CMC should probably just hire me as a special assistant to the team and buy me all the Hamms I can drink

Drank those in the 80s. I think we could get a case of Rhinelander for 3.99 and it wasn't worth 1/2 of that.

Ok, worst beer i ever tasted. Was just called Beer Had a white can with Beer written in black letters. Even a HS kid couldn't choke that down.

Generic Beer may have been someone drinking bad beer and peeing in a can, rancid.

Rhinelander was always cheap and awful. You can drink a whole bottle if you put it in the freezer for 30 minutes first.

I used to get the generic beer all the time. I can't remember who brewed it, seems like it was Pabst. We always got the bottles because it was cheaper and they had little concentration games under the bottle caps. Good times.
