Self also said POY would be Brown, Culver, Lawson or Shayok. So?
Culver, Lawson or Shayok I could see easily winning it.
So, we're on an Iowa State message board and we discuss things like when our former players are mentioned in a positive light.
Self fist bumping Monte during the OT game at the Phog a couple years ago was a really cool moment.
Brown doesn't belong in the discussion with the other three.
This is an ISU message board. You will see these topics brought up especially with Cyclone fans having a tenancy to have an infatuation with what other coaches say about ISU.
Surly, I think you're getting a little too comfortable around here and forget this is an IOWA STATE MESSAGE BOARD. When the coach who's won the last 8 conference championships in a row mentions 2 of your team's players in the context that he did, that's pretty high praise and worth discussing around here.
One of the few handshakes that guy gives that don't involve a wad of hundred dollar bills.
I think he cheats (but any more than any of the other blue bloods??) and obviously gets a ton of favorable calls, but I still contend that Self would be a fun guy to sit down a have a few beers with. He's a great college bball mind and he's been around long enough to have some great stories.

Self is one of those great villains that you know you should hate, but the rat is charming and smarmy enough that part of you kind of enjoys him. I ******* hate it.
I honestly believe it's down to Culver and Lawson. But maybe Brown can sneak in there if KSU wins outright. Otherwise he's out. I don't think that Shayock has a shot, although he's a shoe in for first team all-conference.
