This is a type of player ISU has to land as often as possible.
Sometimes it helps to look at the list of schools under consideration. If I see a regional BCS team (like Illinois in this case), it's best not to lose an in-state star in those situations.
I've long said it: ISU can't build a roster completely with Iowa players, but has to (eventually) own the state when it comes to top-level home-grown talent. That happens one recruit at a time (sorry for using a cliche, but it seemed to fit )![]()
