If he was dismissed due to some crime he committed, couldn't we just delay the court trial for a year and let him play in the meantime. Then when they find him guilty after the season is over he can just declare for NFL. It's a win win situation, and I've heard it's been done elsewhere before.

:jimlad::wink:

What did you need these faces for? Was there a joke hidden in there? :wink:

Can he be signed as a free agent in the NFL, or does he have to wait for the supplement draft? We could sure use this guy in Buffalo

If hes three years out of High School he can enter the Supplemental Draft. Then if hes not drafted he would be a free agent.

Anyone with a little insight have an idea of what the lineup will look like?

I got close, had a .7 one semester. I consider that my redshirt year
Me too, I believe that was the semester I turned of age. It's a wonder what going to the bars 5 nights a week does for your grade point.

I can say for absolute certain that it was grades.

So why couldn't he spend next season at Iowa Central and get the grades back in order before coming back as a SR? Iowa seems to pull that trick about every other year.

NFL? Are you kidding me? MAYBE he can catch on w/ Culpepper in the UFL. He'll be at another school firsth though as he is not 3 years removed from HS yet.

Don't worry though, we don't re-build we re-load as is evident from some of the previous posts in this thread.

Really, could you help me out with who has done this? I can only seem to recall Clinton Solomon leaving in 2003 and coming back in 2004 and Amari Spievey redshirting in 2006, leaving in 07 and coming back in 08. That is 4 year gap and only 2 players in KF's 11 years that have done this, so who else am I missing that did this for Iowa?

To answer your question-This wasn't a first time deal. Evidently he had some grade issues before. I think PR is holding grades to a higher standard than simple eligibility. From what I can understand he had been given a second chance. I would assume this is based on effort to maintain grades and not the grades themselves. PR must not have been pleased with what he was doing with his second chance.

Not to pile on...Lance Tillison this year and Marcus Wilson (attempted). ISU, and most other schools, have had some of these as well. ISU even took one of UI's off of the scrap heap. (see Fabian Dodd)

Yes it is, but Iowa had a guy leave and come back in 2004 and 2008, so that isn't every other year is it? I said they have had 2 guys in 4 years do this and that doesn't mean they did it 2 years apart. Also I wasn't forgetting Shonn Greene because Kirkwood doesn't have a football team and the dude took a whole year off from playing but if you want to I guess you could still count it but still hardly every other year or a common occurance at Iowa like Frak thinks it is.

Tillison left because of playing time not grades. There was a paper work issue on the transfer. A lot of his return is based on the birth of a new child he has.
