Do eskimos complain about sub zero temperatures? I didn't think so. I'll take another day off.

I remember a few days they cancelled school because of cold weather. -15 to -20 temps and diesel are not a good combo. Get a bus gelled up and you have issues when it has kids on it and it is cold, when it could take a bit to get help in rural areas. After spending time out this morning and I have no problems with school being cancelled tomm. Its when they cancel it after 2 inches of snow that bugs me.

She'd do just fine for 15 min. I'm just not buying the reasoning. I wonder if they cancelled school in International Falls for tomorrow. It is supposed to be -40 there tonight (and that's without windchill factored in).

Me thinks they will have school tomorrow. I wonder about Canada as well. Me thinks they will have school tomorrow.

This is the equivalent of when businesses close and they cancel school in the South for an inch of snow.

Ever seen folks in the south driving on an inch of snow? I wouldn't want to be out driving around either.

And, it looks like a good deal of N. Minnesota schools are in fact closed tomorrow:

Wow, someone's not in the running for 2009 Father of the Year. Actually, on second thought, I'd really like to see you put your daughter out on the sidewalk for about 15 minutes or so tomorrow morning. I'm guessing she'll be having a ball.

I wasn't aware that layers was the proper attire for the Curtis Beardshear run.

I think windchills in the -30s allow for socks to be strategically placed in any attempt of the Curtiss-Beardshear run...

I think the purists would disagree with you on that, it isn't a true run unless completely lacking in any and all attire. It isn't the windchill that does you in right now but the -15/-20 temperature. Not that I would ever recommend doing the run...in weather colder than 40 degrees.
