I saw '28 Days Later' in the theater and it got me going a few times. I usually don't get scared by movies for some reason.

The Sum of All Fears. The movie isn't great, but when that nuclear bomb went off, wow, that sent shivers.

The Future of Food. While some of you ag guys would write this movie off just on principle, there is some scary **** in this movie.

You still cry when Artex dies in the mud dont you.

I have TNES in my watch instantly cue on netflix. I watch it from time to time. =)

Movies dont typically scare me. There are ones that haunt me however. When I first saw Silence of the Lambs, it stuck with me for awhile just because of the sadistic stuff in it. I cant take movies with realistic killings in them and graphic gore. However slasher movies I enjoy. Movies like Hostel not so much.

"Bastian...What's my name!!"

That part still gives me chills. Great movie. I always thought the little girl was going to be famous but that's the only movie I think she ever did.

The "Blair Witch" documentary/marketing tool before it came out was pretty creepy. I'd have to go with The Shining as the scariest movie ever and The Shinning as the best Simpson Halloween special ever.

The Thing. 1982/Kurt Russell version, there is also one from the 1950s. For that time, the gore and special effects were over the top (nothing computerized like all of the crap movies today) it is all puppeteering. The suspense comes from the fact you don't know who is it. Rent it unless you can't handle gore. Wintertime is perfect since it takes place in Antarctica. Anything that John Carpenter does is great, if you want to see some fun cheese rent "They Live" from 1988 it has Rowdy Roddy Piper and Keith David, who is also in The Thing.

In 1999, The Blair Witch Project was considered scary by many, no gore. I consider it a masterpiece since it was so cheap to make and it has a psychological impact. I found the end to be confusing though.
