Probably not going to be released immediately if true unless JP flew back from Louisville last night/this morning.

Why would anyone think this would happen in the middle of the NCAA tournament?

Heskett was a great wrestler at ISU and has done a great job as coach at Army. The only part that disappoints me is that I'm guessing Army wrestlers can't just up and leave to follow their coach to a new destination. I want to pull the old Brands/Cael special!

Exactly and we all know JP is in Louisville with the basketball team. Pretty sure this is a group blowing smoke.

Why does JP have to be in town in order for there to be a factual rumor? There are other employees of the AD here along with a lot of insiders.

I'm not sure it matters where Pollard is this weekend as no on is predicting when an announcement will be made.

I think KJ took over a horrible situation from Cael. Cale basically screwed Iowa State. I don't think the guy has been givin enough of a chance. he is finally getting some recruits to help out the team

I am interested who people think is going to come coach an underfunded program with subpar facilities that wouldn't even give them time to get established. Changes certainly need to be made. But hiring a new coach isn't going suddenly fix everything. Not giving Jackson another year would hurt the program far more than people think. Do you really want to lose another years worth of recruits?

Underfunded? Maybe compared to an Iowa or Penn State but not compared to most of the rest of the country.

I'm torn on KJ. You only pull the plug on a coach after 2 years if you have zero or no confidence in him. Are we at that point? I have to say, his inability to get his team ready for the post season may have gotten him to that point for me. But yes, I would sacrifice a year's worth of recruits if it is determined KJ is not the right guy for the job.

We aren't underfunded compared to some schools. But people seem to think that we are funded on par with schools like the ones you listed.

As to our facilities, a lot of MAC schools have the same or better.

When statements like... I dont really get into wrestling anymore... or this team is unwatchable... etc.. are being said by the fanbase time to switch.

There are lots of guys who can win as a head coaches. I have a hard time believing that KJ is so good that someone couldnt come in and do as good as him. Negative effects of coaching changes are often over stated. Sometimes the program just gets going in the wrong direction and its time to switch.

I'd like to see him have one more year. The cupboards were bare when he got the job.

And how would people be reacting to this same tournament if Spangler hadn't gotten yet another concussion and had to bow out before the tournament? He was the 8 seed and if you add those points we'd be sitting pretty close to the top ten. We haven't wrestled great but this wasn't a repeat of the Big XIIs. I don't see what has happened over the past two days that would have changed the administrations opinion from "It better get better next year" to "cut ties now". I also don't get what would have changed the fanbase's opinion from what their expectations were before the tournament started. We knew this year was going to suck and injuries made it worse. I firmly believe that the injury problem needs to be addressed with significant changes to our Strength and Conditioning coaching/routine.

But for those of you calling for his head, what changed between Wednesday morning and right now? Or hell, between November and now?
