I would assume that “in the fours” includes up to 4.99. I’m no math whiz though.

Most average D1 players are in the upper 4’s yet every year I have a 30 year old colleague who thinks they could break 5.0 in a 40 when the combine rolls around lol

We just did hand timed 40’s for fun at our men’s soccer pick up league Thursday night. Nobody in the 4’s. The guy that is the youngest and in decent shape is pretty tall and lanky and we thought he would get it but alas he can’t get up to speed in that space and didn’t break in to the 4’s.

A guy that could run a 4.7 or so 40 when they were young could probably get there in their 30s, but honestly most of us were never under 6 much less 5.

We all loved #32, but he wasn’t fast. Not sure if speed or power is the best attribute at RB.

RBs and WRs run 4's in the 40. TEs earn 4.0's for GPA!

I had often noticed that, too. One thing we never saw was DM taking it to the house from 70 yards out. But that's fine, I'll take getting run down from behind once in a while in exchange for all the broken tackles on almost every play and turning a 4-yard play into a 12-yard play.

A 6' 6" 330 lb guy running at me at 5.36 in the 40 would seem scary fast

DM did not have great top end speed, but he was not slow. Troy Davis and him were very similar in that way. Troy could break some tackles, but we will never see another guy like David in terms of making something out of nothing at all. OL has to step up a lot this year.

I'd probably set up an over/under betting line for hamstring and groin pulls if I was watching that. ;)

Unless I ran a couple miles first to loosen up I would be 50/50 to tear an achilles tendon. And even if I didn't you could time me with an sand hourglass.

Thanks, my man! Sorry for the late reply, but I took Kene's comment to mean in the *good* four range — from 4.4 to 4.9 for big guys, especially since he was talking about all position groups. Still exciting to hear him talk about speed being everywhere, relatively speaking.
