Give the man alittle time before you start to throw stones. Atleast let him coach a game.

Rhaods will get it in place once he gets all the unloyal and unholy humans that will go some where for just a little extra cash when their already making more than what half of us make.

ok, two guys. Not a big deal. It's better to find out now that they really don't want to be here so he can find some guys that do.

KF hasn't had to put together a new staff the last three years.
I also don't think anyone is after coaches from KF's staff. I am not that familiar with his staff, but I don't think a lot of them are considered "Up and Comers"

Isn't it true that the better the coaches the better the chance another suitor comes and offers more money to them because they see the talent the coach has? Hmm, if Paul has already had 2 leave in a month, and KF hasn't had any (not going to look it up if there may have been 1) leave in 3 years, does that mean KF's assistants aren't worth anyone else's time to hire, while CPR's assistants have a bit more coaching talent and are in demand?

Would think it is an honor that we have coaches highly desired by other schools...

Ferentz has a career average record of 7-5. Not bad. Not great either. Has there been a new idea come out of Iowa City in the past decade? Base defense. Run the ball. Play action pass. Just do simple things well and you can do o.k.

Fixed.

I think that Fountain DID want to be here. But an extra $60k tests that limit of just how loyal you are. I wonder how many of us would consider moving to Alabama for an extra $60k. And then add in that Fountain is from the South...pretty easy decision.

For those comparing to iowa's staff, both our assistants were hired by SEC programs. That's where the money is. Money to pay an Admin guy $170k and a DL coach $600k. I really doubt that the SEC wants iowa's coaches. No matter how well they coach, the SEC doesn't have a lot of use for guys that recruit Illinois, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Ohio.

What the ****

He has lost one member from a staff he is still trying to get together. Take a look at KF's first couple of years and tell me how many he lost.

I don't even know how seriously I would consider him a loss. Yes, he was a good recruiter and he would have been good to keep, but he would of got paid by ISU regardless of whether Rhoads asked him to stay or not. Might as well put him to work pulling in the recurits since we are paying him. Who knows, maybe that was the deal the entire time. Outside of recuriting, I'm not sure how good of a coach he really is.

I think the move was for security, but not the $$$. Fountain liked working for Chizik, and more importantly, he knew Chizik liked him. He knows it will be for the long haul.
Rhoads had kept him on, but who knows how it would work out in the next year. Fountain could be out on the street after one season.
