Tonight at the Meet the Coaches event they had a fly through animated video of what the stadium is going to look like in much better detail. JP said that they will release that video they showed tonight sometime in Sept after they hash out more details. The photos they released do what the end result is going to look like no justice. It's going to look phenomenal.

And yes, there is going to be full ribbon video board between the decks according to that video as well. Very excited for it!

I was looking through some renderings of the new stadium as well as photos of Hilton from the South Side. I really wish that the architects could have taken the octagonal "shape" and columns from Hilton Coliseum and designed it into the south exterior appearance of JTS. I think it could have been pretty awesome to tie them in with each other.

That is awesome, thanks for posting.

Will the ribbon board connect the two decks? Underneath the future new scoreboard but above the end zone seats.

It sure looked like the ribbon board is going scoreboard to scoreboard between decks. One of the very last images was a night shot, and is was a was quick shot but the ribbon board definitely went end to end. If that truly happens remains to be seen.

Two more things:
1. The video spent a lot of time inside the stadium and the new building, and they're going to be using actual cardinal color seats for the bottom portion of the SEZ judging by the video. It's probably going to make our current bleachers look even worse than the are, but hey, the new SEZ will look good :)

2. The 2nd new video board will look AWESOME!

Maybe some fresh paint will be applied next summer!

I always thought that original drawing was pretty crude. Can't wait to see this new one

For anyone who cares, I noticed the concrete trucks rolling yesterday. There was a convoy of them going in and out of the south lot, I assume pouring footings. Anyone have a more detailed status update on the construction?

Lots of concrete being poured today and vertical steal beams being placed. These guys are working full steam ahead and no looking back. Daily must see tv over the next year to see it being built.

Curious what an expanded press box/suite would look like?

Hey Goothrey, can you duplicate the south endzone on the north side in place of the Jacobson Building? Maybe have a grass hillside in the space opposite the South Club directly behind the North Goalpost, similar to Texas Tech but wider. That'd put capacity at 64k (not counting grassy knoll).

Why don't we just power wash the paint off and just leave silver? WVU has that and it looks fine on TV.

This.
They either need to be repainted every off season, or just be left silver.
I'm all for just keeping them silver. Easier to maintain and doesn't get that "faded" look with multiple shades of cardinal and gold.

The problem I noticed at Kinnick with the silver ones was that with that many they really reflected the sun. I don't know how they would be at Jack Trice with that but that is one thing to consider.
