The theory says that Jar Jar Binks is a trained force user, Sith sympathizer, and will play a role in the new movie. It even goes as far as saying that JJB could be the supreme leader of the dark side.

This theory just blew me away after reading it and pretty much made me comatose after reading the reply thread at the bottom of the page. I can really get behind this theory.

I dont know about a supreme leader but JJ Abrams would be a legend if he made Jar Jar turn and then someone offed him with a lightsaber.

It sounds like a plausible theory in relation to the movies and events. However, outside of the movies and for fans; one of the biggest reasons people hated episode 1 was because of Jar Jar. No matter how he is used in any future media, people will instantly hate it because its Jar Jar.

Jar Jar is done.

That's pretty funny. Just so we're clear, you don't actually believe there is a chance in hell this happens, right?

Or JarJar was another stupid change Lucas put into the new movies (episodes 1-3) that has no significance at all.

I don't think JJ goes in that direction, however I do find it entirely plausible that this WAS the direction GL may have been going before the outpouring of hate for JJB. If the prequel was supposed to be the mirror, then its completely plausible.

Very long time SW fan here. I read the whole article and about 1/3 of the comments. I guess I'll just echo one of the comments:

Part of me really wants this to be true. It would be pretty risky, to the point where fans may actually walk out of the theater because of their past experiences with the character, but on the other hand it would be a great way to redeem his character.
I just can't believe you actually managed to make this make sense. Good job.

Also, I thought I read somewhere that Snoke was supposed to be some ancient/rare alien, eliminating Jar Jar.

The description of Snoke is feasible for Jar Jar(Reptilian), and by this point in time, JJB would be pretty old. I have my doubts that they actually go down this path but it really could legitimize the prequel trilogy.

No, I'm not convinced this happens, in fact, I don't expect it to happen, but if it does then I will not be one bit suprised.

Do you think Snoke could be a Rakata from the Rakatan empire? They look reptillian, plus they used the dark side of the force.

I'm not sure, but I would say its more likely than the JJB scenario if for no other reason that everyones hatred of him. Then again, everyone is supposed to hate the bad guy, right? I do love a good tinfoil hat read.

Except JJB basically disappeared in EP 2&3. So if he was a Sith Lord there would have been more storyline involving him regardless of fan hatred. The fact his character was so diminished just proves what we all new. He was the new ewoks, some dumb loveable character to market Star Wars to small kids.

This is just crazy enough that it might be true. If anything, I believe that it was GL's intent to have Jar Jar revealed as the "I am your father" moment in II or III, but after the reaction to the character in I they scrapped that plan and wrote in Dooku instead.
