Yesterday, former Wichita State G Austin Reaves tweeted that Iowa State was in his final four along with UNI, Purdue and Oklahoma.

Kicker is, Iowa State doesn't have a scholarship for him.

Hearing that this is a kid Iowa State is recruiting for if Lindell Wigginton goes pro. Lindell decision, I'm guessing, won't come until after the combine.

Obviously I expect Wigginton to be back but that would be a hell of a consolation prize

    I've heard worse ideas.

    Reaves' per-40-minutes averages last season:
    FG%: 45
    3pt%: 42
    FT%: 82
    RPG: 5.8
    APG: 3.8
    TPG: 2.1
    PPG: 15.1

Maybe I don’t totally understand the situation, which is fine, but the longer Lindell waits before making a decision does not make me feel all warm inside.

I don't really see harm in recruiting Reaves even if we fully expect to be full. We did lose McNeil at about this time last year. it's not like this is an insanely busy time of the year for the staff.

I don't think it's anything to worry about that LW hasn't pulled out of the draft. The whole reason for doing it was to get feedback so if he can workout for a couple teams why not do it.

I would be shocked if he goes pro this year. As awesome as he was , he turned the ball over way too much last year. He better improve in that regard

It's a no-brainer IMO. He has a great shot of playing himself into the first round if he comes back.

Basically you promise Reaves the next available scholarship. If we are the right fit. paying for one year of quality education isn't a bad investment in your future if you truly believe ISU is your best opportunity to max your opportunities.

I don't know too many who entered who have withdrawn yet so he's just like all of the others.

He's still in "just the tip" territory.

The Big 12 has done pretty good this transfer season.
