Here is another vote for Sudsy Dog. I live in Granger and they travel over, so that shouldn't be an issue for you. I have a Black Lab and when she sees Sudsy Dog coming up the driveway she runs right for her. I would also say for the time and work that is done, it is very affordable.

I have some old calf clippers, bring him by my house and for a six pack I'll make him look real nice.

Disclaimer - there is a 99 percent chance that this could go really bad, which in case I still keep the six pack.

Just booked an appointment at the "Bark Zone" for 40-45. This doesn't include a full cut though. Just a trim, bath, etc.

Depending on how old your dog is, I know Pet Smart does a "puppy" trim and bath for like $20...but I think the dog has to be younger then 6 months (don't quote me on that).

Just make sure they milk the glands.

We had them suppress the anal glands last time, and our dogs ******* turned bright red and he was licking it for a week. I guess you're supposed to do that with every cut, but it seems to be a less than desirable procedure.

Wow....my dog seems to get an extra spring in his step after visiting the groomer. He also likes listening to Elton John though.:twitcy:

Buy a grooming kit for 18 bucks, watch the DVD that comes with and save yourself 50 bucks. :)

Of course that works with a Shih Tzu...with a Golden Retriever, we've had good luck with Ankeny Pet Salon.

Ankeny Pet Salon told me that they weren't taking "new big dogs." Understaffed I think. Not a big deal. Their quote was higher than where I booked at anyway.
