OU - squeaked by Cincy by2, Air Force by 3 and Utah State by 7. I'd say they are beatable if they underestimate you or don't shake off the rust before halftime.

UT - demolished @Austin by UCLA ranked 6-8th in the PAC-10 with USC and Arizona St:wideeyed:

NU
- Struggled with S. Dakota State... :skeptical:

CU
- Trashed Georgia was trashed by Mizz no idea what that means.

MU
- Required help from the officiating crew... which later admitted it was a blatant and bad no call... on a block to the back to score and beat San Diego State by 3.:skeptical:

Iowa State got beat by 41 against Utah and 28 against Iowa.

It's easy when you look at each of the team's poorest performances.

Terribly.

Mizzou was won 2 of the last 4 games they've played in Ames, including a game where they had literally nothing to play for, and we were playing for the Big 12 title game. I'd hardly say they "have issues" in Ames.

I think the better statement is that Iowa State has played Missouri tough in recent years and regardless of where the game is played, what team sucks, its a ball game.

As a fan don't you have to look at the bright spots??

I was happy Cyclones were predicting upset and as a True Ute Fan I predicted a much closer outcome... say Utah by 11.

Still respect your opponents, but never stop believing your team has a chance to win.

I picked the Clones to win that game, even though history should show us that we can't beat good teams back-2-back.

On the negative side, it's been 20 years or so since our last win in Norman. We've never beat Texas. We don't usually play CU well at Boulder, or most road games. NU is probably the best team (except maybe Utah) that we'll face this year.

On the positive side, we should have beat KU last year and they're no where near as good as then. CU is still as inconsistent as they've been since Hawkins got there. T-Mart is only a freshman and is still capable of a bad game like SDSU. Texas and OU haven't played consistently good football, but the Sooners have been good enough to win.

Forgot MU: Gary Pinkel, enough said.

I'll take us to go 5-7, as I predicted to start the season. We'll win one of those upsets and but lose another we shouldn't. We'll be in this thing fighting for a bowl until the end.

Thanks Ute, ISU has some of the lamest fans, course you probably knew that with 43K in attendance in the game against your team

I don't have a problem with the 3-3, it is reasonable. What I do have a problem with is the total lack of fire and determination in the Utah and Iowa games. Sure both of those teams are much better than ISU, but they have both played lesser opponents than ISU that played them much tougher. I think in the Utah game, the team was still tired from the TT game. That was a wild game and noone got to play many subs, and ISU just has no depth at all.

Those games had nothing to do with fire and determination. It was just pure physical and athletic domination. No shame in getting spanked by 2 top 10 teams.

College kids tired one week later? Really?

If we find 5 wins with this schedule hats off to CPR.

I had ISU at 3-3 going into the season, but I was wrong on about half of it:
1. KSU was a win (L)
2. Tech was a loss (W)
3. Had Utah as a narrow loss (I was about 38 points off)

I'm not shocked by a 3-3 start, thought 4-2 was possible, wish it was somehow 5-1 (or 4-2 with at least a smidgen of closeness vs. Iowa & Utah).

On the other hand, I have a sliver of hope about the back half of the schedule compared to my preseason forecast:
1. I had ISU losing by 21 at Texas, which seems beatable (but somehow I fear it'll still be a 21-point loss, just a "good fight" 3-touchdown loss).
2. KU might be even worse than I thought. I can't even imagine how far south this season will go if that isn't a win, at home. I feel at least as confident about that win, and I wouldn't rule out winning at CU (I had both of these games as wins).

But:
1. I think Nebraska is better than I anticipated (although OU may be not quite as good as I expected, so that's a wash.)
2. I just don't like our chances vs. Missouri — winnable, perhaps, but I think that team is going to finish second in the North, and if it's precarious-situation territory for a bowl at that point (5-6), I sense an ISU-style letdown.

I still think my 5-7 prediction seems about right.

I think those are reasonable expectations with the exception of UT....I think for sure thats a loss.
I had to bump this and give HerkyKiller (and the rest of you Clones who claimed no chance at Texas) a bit of grief! Herky's post is really funny especially with his new sig! :twitcy:
