I have to admit, I'm starting to see the draw of UNLV. If you're just looking to go somewhere for a year, want to play for a coach who isn't going to demand a lot out of you, and be the man for a year in a city like Las Vegas, then that is a great place. Vegas doesn't have a pro team. Imagine being a celebrity in Vegas at the age if 18. Doesn't appeal to me now, but when I was 18...boy I would have had some fun. And if that is what he wants then ISU is not a good fit for him anyways.

I have to admit, I'm starting to see the draw of UNLV. If you're just looking to go somewhere for a year, want to play for a coach who isn't going to demand a lot out of you, and be the man for a year in a city like Las Vegas, then that is a great place. You underestimate the fact that nobody in Vegas cares about UNLV basketball. In Vaughn's official visit there was basically nobody there, and IIRC Vaughn tweeted something about there being a ton of Illinois fans there compared to UNLV fans.

You underestimate the fact that nobody in Vegas cares about UNLV basketball. In Vaughn's official visit there was basically nobody there, and IIRC Vaughn tweeted something about there being a ton of Illinois fans there compared to UNLV fans.

I'm sure there are still plenty of UNLV fans, and probably some with big bucks, to get the VIP treatment.

We don't know anything other than his team (Findlay Prep) has a game at 8:30pm Central on Saturday. Some random UNLV fans on a message board are saying that he will make his announcement right before that game. As far as I can tell, that hasn't been confirmed by anyone in the media.

I'm ready for this to be over. Do I want Vaughn in an ISU uniform? Hell yeah. But if he doesn't pick us, it won't be the end of the world. As Fran Francilla said during the OSU game, I'd rather have Georges or Melvin for 4 years than a 1-and-done. ISU will be just fine without him.

If he does choose UNLV, at least we won't have to watch any of his games as they are rarely on TV. If he chooses ISU, Cyclone fans will love him and welcome him with open arms.

Yep, plus the Kaffey unknown.

The $$$ he will make in the NBA will dwarf what anyone has offered him (if something like that has happened). So IF, and obviously its a giant IF, he does make a decision based on $$$ and a 20-something felon "mentor", do we want him here?

It was fairly full for the Illinois game, but there was a ton of orange and the crowd noise seemed about 50/50
