A reminder also that a high school kid owes absolutely nothing to any of you. It is his decision. He has said he was committing in the spring for awhile now. He doesn't live on your timeline.
Sounds really selfish of him. I added him on twitter. And I've made more than 10 posts in this RV thread. He owes me a commitment, and he owes me a commitment today.
I wonder how much $$ ISU has put into recruiting RV??
Nothing more than your normal high-major recruiting protocol. Don't worry about it, just a bunch of old men behind a computer screen feeling self-righteous and in the mood for libel. Fred and RV's parents are fine with his direction and that is all that matters.I only read a little of the tribune article. Can anyone explain what his "mentor" might or hopes to get out of the situation? Also, I am thrilled, but not surprised, to be in that top 5!
+1. RV told everyone a long time ago that he was going to wait until spring. He has not been jerking anyone around and has been respectful for the entire process. I applaud his patience. If you are a top recruit, it is wise to wait to see how the rosters shake out.A reminder also that a high school kid owes absolutely nothing to any of you. It is his decision. A lot. But most of those $$ would have gone to recruiting someone else ...just seems like we are putting all of our eggs into the RV basket. I really hope he comes here but if not, I'm sure we'll pick up a quality transfer.
I expect him to pick KU or UK in the end.
Glad to see Baylor out. I wonder if Minnesota is out due to the sour grapes article recently, or if that appeared after a rumor that they were?
Cool story.
I would hate to be him when he visits the Hilton if he picked KU.

Disappointed we didn't make the top five, but it'd been pretty clear for a while he wasn't ending up here. As per usual, I wish him no success in his basketball career, and hope that whatever team he ends up endures near constant disappointment in their basketballing hopes and dreams. However, I will say, and of course, this sounds very sour grapes, and perhaps it is, but I'm secretly a bit relieved. I'd rather fail attempting to succeed the right way than to actually succeed the wrong way. Clem hurt. And whichever school gets Rashad, it's absolutely clear that they're selling their soul to get him. It's slim consolation, but if I wanted to cheer for Calipari, I'd be a Kentucky fan right now. I hope Pitino is able to craft a winning program the right way with his 2015 class.
Cool story.

I am sure he planned to keep them in till the end and when that article was written, he just said **** it and **** UM
A lifetime of being a Cyclone makes me think this too, even though with Fred at the helm, ANYTHING is possible.
Logically, from what I have read and seen so far, we stand a pretty good shot, but I hate the following:
1- He is visiting 3 blue bloods (well after his visit here)
2- He has a handler (willing to bet that all of the aforementioned schools are willing to play that game more than we are)
3- He seems to love the recruiting process, which IMO favors a "big name" school
We have plenty going for us too, so maybe it's just my insecurity.
