Re: Rashad Vaughn

In addition KU already has Frankamp White And Greene at the 2/3 spots plus Oubre even if Selden leaves. And they are still in the Jones/Okafor sweepstakes so I think they back off Vaughn if Oubre commits. I think that's the reason he hasn't scheduled a visit to KU yet.

UNLV is as much in it at IowaState was for Barns. Just like Minnesota was in it until he moved to Vegas.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

I think it helps ISU if Oubre picks KU because they only lose for sure Black and Wiggins although Selden is a strong possibility but it looks as though they are goin after a lot of big guys so they probably only take one wing player.

I would throw in Perry Ellis with that group.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Why anyone would choose Baylor with higher academic standards when your only goal is to be a one and done would be beyond comprehension. That being said, I don't like it but UNLV seems like a logical choice for someone who isn't interested in getting a degree and there simply to enjoy a required year of college life and play hoops.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Vaughn doesn't appear interested in joining some freshman dream team a la Kentucky. He wants a coach he can trust and a significant role in an up-tempo offense (aka buckets).

KU is a great offensive team, Self is one of the best in the business, Phog Allen Fieldhouse is a great home court, but they are stacked in a way that ISU isn't. ISU's age and talent appears to be more balanced. That would allow Vaughn to come to a team (ISU) that has a legitimate chance to contend for a Final Four and he can be a focal point of the offense (once again, get buckets).

I don't think you can make that case for KU given the ridiculous roster they have currently.

Legitimate shot at a final four? Lets not get ahead of ourselves.

Yeah see think unlv is more like window dressing ditto UNC and baylor wih oubres commitment to ku though the unc door could swing open again. Seems his parents now want to go with him on a visit to unc to see a game. Still think isu is the team to beat as of now. After all he always talks glowingly about your coach.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

guys, UNLV is definitely the team to fear. I think if Vaughn wanted to commit to UNC he would of a long time ago. I'm not discounting UNC at all, but I truly think its coming down to ISU and UNLV. I might get ISU a slight edge but barely. UNC is stacked talent wise and it seems like Vaughn wants to the GUY, if he didn't he would of committed to UNC or Kentucky already.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Self's recruiting is insane. He's right up there with Kentucky at this point. We're going to have to land players like Vaughn to have a shot at seriously challenging them.

He did try to commit to UNC parents made him put the brakes on. Secondly I just don't see him going to unlv well maybe now that oubre has committed to ku they will stick around longer but in the end its isu... btw unc is not stacked with 2 guards... we have plenty of 3's, 4's, and 5's, but no 2 guards so he could come in and might not be the man but he would be a starter. Just don't see him coming here

With Vaughn, yes. Why can't I get ahead of myself? Am I on the team? I'm not saying we would be a lock by any means.

I'm just not REAL enough. I don't want to be wrong on a message board.
